On June 14th, the participants of the Nefab Global Trainee Program 2023-2024 celebrated their graduation at Nefab’s headquarters in Kista, Sweden together with Per Öhagen, President and CEO, Maria Brithon ♦️, EVP People & Culture and Anne Morawietz, Employer Branding Specialist (and Manager of the Global Trainee Program). This year, the group of trainees consisted of eight young talents: Philipp Haug, Germany; Stefany Lopez Ramirez, Mexico; Shang Jee Chuah, Malaysia; Lily Monte, USA; Niels D., The Netherlands; Max Minor, USA; Andrii Artamonov, Poland; Jake Nimmo, Canada. The Nefab Global Trainee Program is more than just a training program. Over the past ten months, our trainees have demonstrated not only technical skills and knowledge but also resilience, adaptability, and unwavering determination to learn and excel. They have worked on diverse assignments with colleagues from all around the globe. They went on an international assignment, a unique and invaluable opportunity that allowed them to gain global perspectives, experience diverse cultures, and navigate the complexities of working in a different environment. This experience has not only enriched their professional skills but has also broadened their horizons, making them more versatile and globally minded professionals. We are proud to partner with Metso on this new endeavor in Chile, providing warehousing and distribution support for mining customers in the region while also addressing the growing demand for sustainable packaging.
Metso has opened a new state-of-the-art distribution center in Vina del Mar, Chile. The modern center will considerably increase Metso’s capability to deliver equipment, spare and wear parts and components, and will further strengthen the distribution and logistics network in Chile. Nefab Expands Reach in South America with Opening of First Facility in Chile We are proud to announce the inauguration of our new site in Viña del Mar, Chile, marking a key expansion of our operations in Latin America. We do so in collaboration with Metso to provide warehousing and distribution support for mining customers in the region while also addressing the growing demand for sustainable packaging. Nefab’s new facility in Chile offers a wide range of solutions, including returnable packaging, fiber-based solutions and plywood crates for the mining, manufacturing, energy, and telecommunication industries. In line with our sustainability commitments, the plant primarily operates on renewable energy and utilizes a fleet of electric vehicles and machinery. “This expansion not only creates more job opportunities in the area but also enhances our footprint to better serve the growing local market," stated Patric Vestlund, Executive Vice President Nefab Group – Americas Region. "At Nefab, we follow a simple yet profound motto: we go where our customers need us. On May 21st, our new Nefab Batu Kawan site located at Penang, Malaysia hosted a Swedish delegation of Swedish ambassadors in several ASEAN countries, together with the Deputy Director of the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, CEO of Business Sweden and the Swedish Trade Commissioner to Malaysia. This visit provided a remarkable platform to showcase our innovative and sustainable packaging solutions. During the visit, we introduced our sustainable packaging solutions such as ExPak, FiberFlute, and 100% recycled plastics thermoformed cushions, as well as our returnable packaging solutions. The ambassadors were impressed by our commitment to sustainability and our solutions’ contribution to minimizing environmental impact throughout the supply chain. Their recognition of our efforts was truly gratifying. This successful visit fostered meaningful discussions on the future of sustainable packaging and potential collaboration opportunities between Sweden and ASEAN countries.
