We had the pleasure of hosting a delegation of 40 senior Chinese business executives from the Guangdong Business Association at our BreadTalk Group HQ on 25 June 2024. This visit, part of their field trip to Singapore and Malaysia, was organised by the Association and facilitated by Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy. 🎓 Celebrating Milestones🎉 On 13 May 2024, Management Trainees and Facilities Services Specialists from Din Tai Fung and So Ramen of the Restaurant Division came together to commemorate their convocation. Balancing the acquisition of technical skills in the kitchen and service departments while simultaneously learning managerial responsibilities is no small feat – and yet, the trainees rose to the challenge admirably. The trainees shared that none of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of their mentors. The trainees extended their heartfelt gratitude to those who guided and supported them through every twist and turn, offering invaluable feedback and words of encouragement during moments of doubt. Among all the esteemed mentors, the trainees voted Chef Lee Chun Wah as their best mentor. With 15 years of experience in Din Tai Fung, Chef Chun Wah exemplifies dedication and commitment, patiently teaching and guiding these rookies to be the future leaders of Din Tai Fung. Special congratulations are in order for Mr. Goh Jin Keat, Ms. Tang Jie Yi, Ms. Lai Shu Lin, and Mr. Muhammad Haikal Bin Ali for their outstanding contributions as Management Trainees or Facilities Services Specialists within their respective departments during Q1 2024. Cultural Exchange Trip to Taiwan ✨🌏 From May 13th to 17th, the Din Tai Fung Singapore team had the extraordinary opportunity to participate in a cultural exchange trip to Taiwan, where the brand had originated. During our visit, we immersed ourselves in the rich traditions and practices of Din Tai Fung Taiwan, gaining a deeper appreciation for their meticulous processes and attention to detail, particularly during our eye-opening visit to the central kitchen. We also had the privilege of engaging in inspiring business sharing sessions with colleagues from various countries. These sessions broadened our perspectives and fostered international collaboration, providing valuable insights that we can bring back to enhance our operations in Singapore, Thailand, and the UK. A standout moment of the trip was the Dinner & Dance event hosted by the Taiwan team. It was an evening filled with fun, laughter, and camaraderie, where we connected with colleagues from different regions, enjoyed performances by local celebrities, and created lasting memories.
