From the smallest upstream producer to a high street shop, how do you decarbonise for fashion 👖👕? Taking any action is extremely complex because of the supply chains that come with it, and the accompanying lack of traceability. 📈 We helped The Giving Movement with emissions measurement and reduction simulations, delivered in just weeks. We even helped them with decarb simulation, with a potential emissions reduction of >18%. As the only platform that can offer end-to-end traceability, measurement, purchase of certified low carbon cotton alongside detailed project tracking for sustainable growing practices around cotton and other commodities, learn more about how Terrascope helped The Giving Movement with whole-of-supply-chain visibility of Scope 3 emissions, and acting on decarbonisation targets. Agriculture 🌾 has been at the heart of human civilisation for millennia, whether it be as a source of food, textiles, or medicine. Connected with this, however, are global demographics 🌐, which have increased the demand for food alongside emissions contributions. Climate change impacts, such as altered precipitation patterns and temperature shifts, directly affect crop yields and pose risks to food security. They show how interconnected agriculture is with climate change - especially as there is now greater pressure than ever to adapt sustainable agricultural practices 🌱 to the needs of our changing world. But this begs the question: how can we encourage upstream producers/growers to feed future generations more sustainably 🍚? More in the article in the comments ↘️

Rice’s place in the global food chain is paramount 🍚 🥇 DID YOU KNOW? - As a crop, rice provides about 20% of the world’s calorie intake 🌾. (source: CIAT) - Around half of the global population rely on it for sustenance 🍙 🍛. (source: FAO) - But with it, rice production is resource-intensive and heavily material; consuming almost 24-30% of the developed world’s fresh water resources 🚿. (source: International Rice Research Institute) With how resource intensive its production can be 🚜 🌱, its place in our worldwide climate destiny is equally critical - we must consider how we can build more sustainable practices around rice. Olam Agri’s VP; Head of Rice and Sustainability Research, Paul Nicholson sat with Terrascope's Decarbonisation Specialist, Xinlu Liu to delve into the intricacies of rice. Catch their session below.

As per an IDC report commissioned by Terrascope, we found that 29% of organisations surveyed could reduce waste and optimise costs just by supporting sustainability outcomes. 🌱 As the world grapples with an urgent need to address climate change, focus is starting to shift towards Scope 3 emissions. These occur across the whole of an organisation's supply chain, and have often been omitted due to their difficulty in being addressed. 🗺️ With more and more global regulations like Australia's upcoming Treasury Laws Amendment (Financial Market Infrastructure and Other Measures) Bill 2024 and the EU's CSDDD beginning to include its disclosure, tackling them is becoming imperative. Read more on how addressing Scope 3 emissions can unlock enterprise value via the article linked in the comments:
