This new hire will be based in Singapore and will be eligible to participate in McCormick's hybrid work program (50% onsite and 50% remote per month). The Sr Director Procurement for APAC will report in to the Chief Procurement Officer.

Position Overview


Leads Regional Procurement teams to contribute to the goals and objectives of the global procurement function. This role is the primary and lead procurement business partner to the regional Commercial and other regional cross-functional head/s.

The role provides expertise and leadership in assuring the supply of materials, services, and information at the best overall value.

Assumes overall responsibility and accountability for all regional Procurement activity including strategy development, risk management, supply excellence and regional stakeholder intimacy.

In collaboration with the central category lead and peer regional procurement leads, develops goals and strategic direction of the function, as a member of the Global Procurement Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities


  • Operates as the primary Procurement Lead to the regional commercial and cross-functional head/s in establishing the needs of the region, and supporting the regional agenda.

Acts as a strategic Procurement business partner, attending regional leadership meetings as required, appropriate and necessary. Accountable for maintaining reliable sources of supply and provides leadership [either directly or indirectly] on the negotiation of procured materials and services [as required locally].


  • Collaborates with Global Procurement Category Lead to develop the strategic plans categories globally. Leads the negotiations of procured materials and services that are specific to the region [where not procured through the global category teams] to assure optimal TCO (Cost, Quality, Delivery, Innovation) achieved. Ensures the translation and implementation of category strategies to mitigating risk to the Corporation.


  • Sets direction and goals for the regional procurement teams. Leads team, attracting, motivating and developing talent to drive high performance across the function, whilst building succession and diversity across the entire Procurement operating model.


  • Leads regional change management efforts while creating true alignment & integration internally and externally. Develops and implements strategies to assure lowest overall cost while mitigating risk to the Corporation. Acts as internal consultant and represents the function with customers and suppliers, as business needs required


  • Accountable regional lead in supporting and resourcing the needs of regional projects & providing requirements for purchasing guidance & leadership.


  • Acts as a strategic member of the Global Procurement Leadership team, collaborating with peer group and contributing to global activities related to Growth, Performance and People.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Accounting or applicable field of study required


Experience

  • 10+ years in Purchasing/Supply Chain environment with appropriate business experience. 10+ yrs managing, leading developing dynamic work teams. 7+ yrs project management, execution of large, multiple or cross-functional projects. 5+ yrs commodity risk management experience. Expert in business processes with broad functional area knowledge. Leads, manages or oversees complex process and cross-functional projects and initiatives. Regularly works under aggressive deadlines with significant dollar impact. Broad knowledge of legal and contracting issues and ramifications. Knowledge and regular use of techniques to develop strategy for the Function. Leads a team of individual contributors, managers/supervisors and Directors. Decisions the job influences or advises on at this level will make a contribution to determining technical/professional developments and the strategy for the area.
