Fela Buyi Akinse[1][2]is the founder of SALUBATA technology which won Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and Commonwealth Youth Programme (CYP). [3][4].He has also published a global patent.[5]

He was acknowledged by Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari after he received the award at the 26th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM)[6]

Education

Fela Akinse Was born in Lagos State but hail from Ondo State. Akinse’s passion for the environment led him to study Environmental Toxicology and Pollution Management at the University of Lagos, but he also had a keen fascination with the intersection of art and science.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental toxicology at the top of his class in 2014 and, two years later, a master’s degree in Environmental Toxicology and Pollution Management from the University of Lagos.[7][8]

Career

Fela Akinse founded SALUBATA after he resigned as a business analyst and an environmental scientist in 2018. He is the first African to join the Commonroom Global Residency.[9][6][7] [10][9]

He is known as an inventor and technology entrepreneur that created modular shoes from Plastic recycling wastes and also for his CO2 to O2 shoe technology.[11][12][13][14]

He currently owns two design rights, Trademark and global Patent in United States and Nigeria in repurposing modular shoes from Plastic recycling wastes and also the carbon decomposition technology of Carbon dioxide from carbon to breathable oxygen and also has partnership with Department for International Trade.[10]

Akinse has been invited to speak on stages including a panellist at Princeton University [6], World Economic Forum (Davos conference), Junior Chamber International, EU-Africa Business Summit in 2021, Ashoka, Innovention series, Lagos Innovates,ChangeNow World event, International Ecomarathon, Waves of Change, EVPA (Impact Week 2022) and as an innovator, business strategist, mentor and motivator. He was nominated for World Economic Forum Global Shapers 2020.[15][16][17][7][10][18]

He won 2020 Meaningful Business 100 (MB100 2020) and 2021 edition of Science Innovation Award by Stellenbosch University.[19][20]

Akinse co-founded “pap.earth and also PlyChain”, with his wife, Yewande Akinse and also created an entrepreneurial course on Udemy.[21][22]

He is married to Yewande Akinse also an entrepreneur and they have a daughter[11]
