Carolyn Keene is the author of The Dana Girls and Nancy Drew books. Carolyn Keene is a pseudonym for the real authors of the books. The first Carolyne Keene was a journalist, Mildred A. Wirt Benson, who wrote many of the books starting in 1929.[1] Later books were written by Harriet Stratemeyer Adams, the daughter of the books' publisher, Edward Stratemeyer.[1] There have also been several other authors writing Nancy Drew books for Stratemeyer.
