Tesla Cybertruck's bulletproof body tested: Elon Musk claims emptied entire Tommy gun
The Tesla Cybertruck made its debut back in November 2019, and at the official unveiling, the electric pickup truck failed the steel ball test that was performed by Elon Musk to demonstrate its armoured glass. However, it looks like Tesla is very much serious about offering high levels of protection with the Cybertruck including bulletproofness!
A video circulated on Elon Musk-owned social media platform X (formerly Twitter) showing a Tesla Cybertruck cruising down the highway with what looked like bullet marks on the side of the vehicle. The pickup truck was spotted by a member of the Tesla Owners Silicon Valley club. Replying to the video, Musk confirmed that this particular Tesla Cybertruck was fired at by a Tommy gun into the driver side door to check its bullletproofness.

"We emptied the entire drum magazine of a Tommy gun into the driver door Al Capone style. No bullets penetrated into the passenger compartment," said Elon Musk. The EV maker claims that the electric pickup truck is made for 'ultimate durability' and 'passenger protection', which is probably the reason for its ultra-hard 30X cold-rolled stainless-steel structural skin as well as armoured glass. The stainless-steel skin is claimed to help eliminate dents, damage and long-term corrosion.

The Cybertruck is being built at Tesla Inc's Gigafactory Texas facility near Austin. While it is still uncertain as to when the deliveries for the EV will commence, Tesla continues to create hype for the Cybertruck showing off its capabilities on social media.
