Bengaluru-based startup Ultraviolette Automotive recently launched the Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 electric motorcycle. We recently rode the e-bike and here’s everything you need to know.

The Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 is essentially a facelift version of the F77. The new model features mechanical improvements, more range, new features and much more. The bike is offered in two variants - F77 Mach 2 and F77 Mach 2 Recon priced at Rs 2.99 lakh and 3.99 lakh respectively, ex-showroom.

In terms of design, the F77 Mach 2 looks the same as the older version but is now offered with nine new colour options - Lighting Blue, Asteroid Grey, Turbo Red, Afterburner Yellow, Stealth Grey, Cosmic Black, Plasma Red, Supersonic Silver, and Stellar White.

Apart from new colours, the Mach 2 also gets new graphic design elements that look attractive. It continues to look unique with the side profile of a faired motorcycle and the face of a naked street bike.

The F77 Mach 2 now also gets a new aluminium flop for the charging port lid, unlike the previous plastic unit.

The e-bike gets a 41mm USD fork at the front suspension and a mono-shock at the rear, both adjustable for preload. The bike also features 17-inch blacked-out alloy wheels wrapped up in 110/70-section tyres. Braking duties are taken care of by a 320mm disc up front, bitten down upon by a 4-piston radial calliper.

At the rear too, the bike gets 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped up in chunky 150/60 section tyres. The company is also offering an aero disc as seen in the image as an accessory, which will help with aerodynamics. Braking duties are taken care of by 230mm rear disc paired with a single-piston caliper.

At the rear, the design remains the same with LED tail lamps with indicators. The suspension is a bit firm due to the added weight from the battery pack, but at the same time, it manages to provide decent ride quality. Both variants also get dual-channel ABS with front-only ABS mode, turning the rear ABS off and leaving the front ABS active.

The bike continues to get a 5.0-inch TFT display which has very good resolution and response as before. But now, it gets new user interface with different themes. Other features include hill hold, switchable ABS, dynamic stability control, traction control with different levels and much more.

One of the biggest updates on the Mach 2 is the inclusion of nine levels of regenerative braking. The 9 is the strongest and 0 is free coasting on a closed throttle. It’s very easy to adjust the level of regen, it gets dedicated arrow buttons on the left-side switchgear to increase or decrease.

The F77 Mach 2 now also has a Delta watch feature which detects the bike’s movement and alerts the user if it falls or is towed. It also gets an Anti-Collision Warning System wherein the turn indicators and brake light flashes repeatedly and also crash alert. The bike also flashes the lights when it’s stationary as a safety feature when the motor is on.

Ultravioette F77 Mach 2​

The F77 Mach 2 is powered by a 7.1 kWh battery pack paired with a 27kW motor whereas the Recon uses a larger 10.3 kWh battery pack paired with a 30kW motor. The standard variant has a claimed range of 211km and the Recon variant gets a 323km range.
