​Upcoming electric cars in India 2024: Maruti Suzuki eVX to Tata Harrier EV​

In 2024, India's automotive landscape is set to undergo a transformative shift with the introduction of numerous electric vehicles (EVs). Here we list some much-anticipated upcoming electric cars in 2024.​

Maruti Suzuki eVX​

Maruti Suzuki will be introducing its first electric SUV, the eVX in the Indian market in 2024. Developed in collaboration with Toyota, the Maruti Suzuki eVX was showcased at the Auto Expo 2023. Measuring 4.3 metres in length and 2.7 metres in wheelbase, the Maruti eVX will come equipped with a dual-screen setup, ADAS, a 360-degree camera, and more. The electric SUV is expected to offer a range of 500 km per charge. ​

Tata Curvv EV ​

Tata Motors is all set to introduce the Curvv EV in the Indian market in mid-2024. Showcased in 2022 in concept form, the Tata Curvv EV features a horizontal light bar, flush door handles, a coupe-like sloping roofline, a big panoramic glass roof integrated into the rear spoiler, and more. Mechanical details are yet to be revealed. ​

BYD Seal ​

​After introducing the BYD Atto 3, BYD is likely to launch its electric sedan, the Seal in the Indian market by mid-2024. Based on the manufacturer’s new-gen electric platform 3.0, the BYD Seal gets a low-slung aerodynamic design and will offer a certified range of 700 km per charge. The sporty sedan accelerates from 0-100 kmph in 3.8 seconds. ​

​Mahindra XUV.e8​

​Slated to launch in mid-2024, the XUV.e8 will be the electric version of the Mahindra XUV700. Based on the INGLO EV platform of Mahindra, the XUV.e8 is expected to be powered by an 80 kWh battery and a dual-motor setup. In terms of interior, the Mahindra XUV.e8 will get a big infotainment screen, a digital instrument cluster and a new screen.​

Kia EV9

Kia will launch the EV9 electric SUV by mid-2024 in the Indian market. Flaunting a boxy design, the Kia EV9 was showcased at the Auto Expo 2023 in the concept form. Powering the Kia EV9 is a 76.1 kWh battery and 99.8 kWh battery in the international markets. However, it is yet to be known which variant will be introduced in India. ​

Hyundai Creta EV ​

Hyundai is expected to introduce the Creta EV in the Indian market in the latter half of 2024. The Hyundai Creta EV will receive a few visual changes as compared to its ICE model. Spotted testing on Indian roads, once launched, the Creta EV will compete with the upcoming Maruti Suzuki eVX and the MG ZS EV in India. ​

​Tata Harrier EV ​

After introducing the Tata Nexon EV facelift in India, Tata Motors is expected to launch the Harrier EV across the country in late-2024. Showcased at the Auto Expo earlier this year, the Tata Harrier EV will be based on the Gen-2 EV architecture of the manufacturer. Likely to get a Bronze paint scheme with White hues, the Tata Harrier EV might offer a 500 km range per charge.
