Two small plastic bins have been installed at Ananda Marga, 6th Cross, Siddhartha Layout (Siddharthanagar), Mysore/Mysuru City, Karnataka. Installation of garbage bins at regular intervals near vacant sites and around parks / educational institutions / playgrounds is always welcome but they need to be big/strong enough and fireproof by default. This is because there are some anti-social elements who because of their arrogance, jealousy, selfishness, ego and stubbornness derive sadistic pleasure by burning the plastic bins by using cigarettes/beedis /agarbattis/ match sticks / garbage / dry leaves.
The presently installed plastic bins are neither fire proof nor big/strong enough to accommodate the garbage. The capacity of each garbage bin should’ve been several times the present size. Some anti-social residents/citizens of the locality/area come on 2-wheelers and 4-wheelers between sunset and sunrise from other roads to dump garbage in and around the vacant site. – Syed Tanveeruddin
