‘If he had stopped the car, my wife would have been alive today’

Mumbai police has issued a lookout circular against Mihir Shah — son of a Shiv Sena politician — wanted in a case of hit-and-run that claimed the life of a woman in Worli on July 7

Drunk, spoiled rich brats running over people in speeding luxury cars is back in the news. In the early hours of July 7, after a night of drinking in a bar in Juhu — a tony western suburb of Mumbai, home to some of Bollywood’s biggest names — Mihir Shah (son of Shiv Sena politician Rajesh Shah) driving a BMW car rammed into a scooter, killing its pillion rider, a 45-year-old woman, and injuring her husband.
The impact of the crash was such that Kaveri Nakhwa and her husband Pradip, fisherfolk from Worli Koliwada, landed on the car’s bonnet. “Pradip banged on the windshield, gesturing the driver to halt... but the driver did not brake,” a police source told TOI+.
