"'Mukhyamantri Meri Ladli Behen' scheme has been started by the state government, and we are seeing large crowds of women on various centres... We held a meeting today with both the DCMs and the Women and Child welfare minister of the state and decided that the age limit of beneficiaries will be increased from 60 to 65 years. The deadline to register has been increased to 31 August. Those who register in August will also get the amount sent out in July since the scheme has been effectively rolled out on July 1. The condition of the domicile certificate has been relaxed... No government employee involved in this scheme in any way should expect any kind of monetary benefit. If found taking bribes, strict action will be taken against the concerned person... The amount which will be used in this scheme has already been incorporated in the state budget...," Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde said on state budget and 'Majhi Ladli Bahin' scheme.
