CPM’s rout in Kerala in the general elections is on the agenda of the ongoing central committee meeting in Delhi, but will the party’s highest decision-making body address the real reasons for the debacle?

Hoping against hope, a section of party men, both within and outside the organisational framework of Communist Party of India (Marxist), are eagerly waiting for the outcome of the CPM central committee meeting which began in New Delhi on June 28 (Friday) to analyse the humiliating poll debacle the party faced in the recent Parliament elections.
The reportedly virulent criticism against Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his government in the party’s state and district forums have raised the hope of Pinarayi’s critics.
