Recently, Nita Ambani visited Banaras to offer wedding invitations at Baba Vishwanath and to seek blessings through special prayers. During her visit, she adhered to the tradition of purchasing Banarasi saris for family weddings by placing a special order for these saris.
She visited both a local sari shop and the home of weaver Vijay Maurya, observing the weaving process and learning about the intricate details of the saris.

Following this, she made some purchases and later held discussions with weavers at her hotel to finalize designs for the wedding.
The ordered Banarasi saris have now been completed, though the details of these garments have been kept confidential. It is known that Nita Ambani has ordered numerous Banarasi saris, with estimates suggesting between 50 and 60 exquisite pieces.

She met loom owners and weavers in Varanasi and purchased about 50-60 of them. According to a report by ANI, Nita Ambani placed orders with several weavers, showing her genuine admiration for their craftsmanship.

Praveen Agarwal, a sari trader and exporter, told India Today TV that the inclusion of Banarasi saris in the Ambani wedding will bring global attention to this ancient craft.
"With the inclusion of the Banarasi sari as a geographical indication product and its incorporation into the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, this ancient art and its weavers have received a new lease on life. When the Banarasi sari is worn at the Ambani family's wedding, it will once again be talked about worldwide," Agarwal said.
The grandeur of the Anant-Radhika wedding has already sparked widespread discussion. The Ambani family's choice to include Banarasi saris in the celebration is expected to elevate the international market for this traditional craft.
