Assam: 11-year-old risks life thrice, jumps into Brahmaputra; saves mother, aunt
Sep 7, 2018Kamal Kishore, a class VI student, was returning home with his mother and aunt in Guwahati when their country boat capsized and sank in the Brahmaputra river. He jumped into the river thrice within 20 minutes to save his mother and aunt. Even though he had reached the safety of the river bank he jumped again to save a woman carrying her infant.
Ulfa hand suspected in 4 explosions in Assam
Jan 26, 2020Four powerful grenade explosions- three in Dibrugarh and one in Charaideo districts- rocked Assam on Sunday morning, police said. In Dibrugarh district, an explosion took place at Graham Bazar and another beside a gurudwara on A T Road, both under Dibrugarh police station. Explosions were also reported from Duliajan, and Teok Ghat under Sonari police station of Charaideo district.
