To celebrate Pride month, we're highlighting the individuals, communities and initiatives that champion the LGBTQ+ community within our game.   Earlier in June, Lia Walti paid a visit to Clubs United, an LGBTQ+ inclusive, grassroots football league, created to provide a safe space for all cis, trans and gender non-conforming identities.   Lia met Hannah, Rowan, Betty and Sarah for a conversation on football and identity, the ongoing meaning of Pride, and how Clubs United has allowed them to be themselves whilst playing the game they love.   The players also discuss Arsenal’s connection with the community and the role the club plays in creating an inclusive environment, by bringing pride, belonging and inspiration and ensuring everyone feels welcome to be a Gooner.   Watch the film, below 👇

𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐓𝐨 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞 | 𝐋𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐞 𝐖𝐮𝐛𝐛𝐞𝐧-𝐌𝐨𝐲 ❤️ When Lotte Wubben-Moy signed her contract extension with the club in 2022, she made a commitment to community work, as well as football. With the help of Arsenal in the Community and the staff at the Hub, the Time to Explore programme was born. The free weekly sessions were designed to provide creative opportunities for 16-year-old girls in Camden, Hackney and Islington and the programme is now in its second year. “𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘰𝘵𝘣𝘢𝘭𝘭 25% 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 75% 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘺 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘩 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘸 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘵𝘰𝘥𝘢𝘺,” said Lotte, “𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴𝘯’𝘵 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘤𝘶𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘰𝘵𝘣𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥. “𝘐𝘵’𝘴 𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘢𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐’𝘮 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐 𝘩𝘰𝘱𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘨𝘪𝘳𝘭𝘴 𝘮𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘰𝘰. 18 months ago we created the Arsenal Creative Studio, an integral function within our marketing department, responsible for working collaboratively across the wider team to bring to life our new brand strategy, deliver creative excellence, and fuel our connection with our supporters. This week we were awarded a Wood Pencil at the D&AD awards in the Film category for our 23/24 3rd kit launch campaign, our first project delivered through the Arsenal Creative Studio. One of the team put it perfectly by saying that this is testament to the talent and hard work of our many team-mates involved, from brief to execution. I couldn’t agree more, and I couldn’t be more pleased for everyone who helped to bring this campaign to life!

Very proud to see our team collect the Women's Football Business Award at the Football Business Awards last week, recognising our efforts to grow the women's game.   We held six women’s matches at Emirates Stadium in the 2023/24 season, breaking three WSL attendance records and achieving back-to-back sell outs.    Our approach across the club has always been test and learn, rooted in data and insights and supported by a fantastic team. This keeps us nimble as we continue to nurture the new audience attending women's matches, and keep them coming back. Next season, we take the next step forward on our 37-year journey, as the Emirates becomes the main home of Arsenal Women.
