Louder Than Words just got even more exciting! 🎉 We’ve officially launched the fringe agenda, offering an event experience like no other. We knew the agenda for Louder Than Words couldn’t take a typical one-size-fits-all approach. That’s why, after morning sessions at the main stage, you have the freedom to choose your afternoon sessions. Fringe sessions are taking place in unique locations across Oxford, from pubs to the Town Hall debating chamber. 🏫 With over 40 sessions to choose from, led by B Corps, activists and allies of the movement, these sessions will touch on a range of topics tailored to suit your interests, address the needs of your business and enable us to collectively tackle the biggest challenges facing our society and planet today. On the same day a new generation of parliamentarians was sworn in, we took the Better Business Act to Westminster. 💼 At a packed reception for the Higginson Strategy purpose-led summer party, the B Lab UK team and representatives from across the UK B Corp movement made the case to MPs and Lords for better business to be put at the heart of our new government's mission. Many attendees signed our open letter during the event calling on the new government to enact the Better Business Act – an amendment to Section 172 of the Companies Act, which sets out the ‘job description’ for company directors to ensure they align social and environmental impact with shareholder returns. We'll be sending this to Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds MP. Our latest blog discusses how our new government can create an economy that benefits all. Read more. 👉 https://bit.ly/45XZ2uI

The results are in and the work to hold our new government to account begins now. 🗳️ In their Manifesto, Labour recognises that ‘sustainable growth requires government to be a strategic partner with business’, but we feel the new government must go further to address the outdated governance structures that are holding UK businesses back. Britain needs business at its best - helping to fix urgent problems like climate change and inequality, poverty and unemployment. The Better Business Act would transform the way Britain does business so every single company takes ownership of its social and environmental impact.
