GPA Regional Coordinator Professor Ricardo Romiti has been working with Professor Ashcroft and Professor Griffiths to publish a paper on ‘The epidemiology of atopic dermatitis and psoriasis in the indigenous people of Brazil’ in the Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (JEADV).   This article shows that psoriasis and atopic dermatitis appear when the population becomes more urbanised. Myth: Psoriasis only affects patients physically. Fact: There are both physical and psychological aspects of psoriasis. The skin condition can have a considerable impact on the emotional wellbeing of those who are affected.

Did you know that the GPA published the largest systematic review of the global prevalence of #psoriasis? It estimates that at least 60 million people have psoriasis globally. That is roughly the equivalent of the UK population! https://lnkd.in/eEA4Pjkk

They contain useful information and activities to help you to live well with psoriasis.   These resources have not been directly developed as part of the GPA project but are made available on our website for the benefit of the psoriasis community.
