In the King's speech earlier this week, several key legislative measures were announced, including the confirmation of VAT on private school fees. 🎒 It is estimated that this will raise more than £1.5bn to fund state schools and train more teachers. However, the policy has been met with concerns over who will absorb the additional 20% cost - the schools or the parents? We are still waiting for specifics of the implementation but being prepared is the best course of action. Phil Salmon, Partner and Co-Head of VAT, has been sharing his views of Labour's plans to introduce VAT on school fees - you can read more here: https://bit.ly/3zWGvTw 👈 For further advice on your next steps, please contact Phil directly.
