  • Highlights from the 2024 European Regional Event in Malta! We're excited to present a video from one of our Six Regional Events in Malta. In celebration of World Skin Health Day, the ILDS and ISD are supporting six educational and impactful events across Europe, North America, Latin America, Africa, West/Central/South Asia, and East Asia & Pacific, thanks to the generous support of CeraVe Care for All. #WSHD2024 These events, taking place on and around #WorldSkinHealthDay, unite communities to discuss and promote #SkinHealthforAll. Watch now! Organised by Dr Valeska Padovese and Bridges2Health&Rights, the European regional event visited various migrant centres in Fgura and Hal Far throughout the day, offering talks on skin hygiene and distributing multilingual information leaflets. Food and beverages were provided to attract participants, and free dermatological consultations and treatment were offered all throughout the day. Cultural mediators and migrant NGOs assisted in mobilising the migrant community, with posters placed in reception centres to inform residents about the event!

  • Today we celebrate #WorldSkinHealthDay! The International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS) and the International Society of Dermatology (ISD) have joined forces to launch the first official World Skin Health Day (#WSHD2024). It takes place TODAY on Monday 8 July 2024. WSHD was established in 2013 by ILDS and ISD; until this year, activities have taken place on different days in different parts of the world. 2024 marks the launch of an annual dedicated day of awareness-raising, aimed at highlighting the significant impact of skin diseases and the need for more education and increased equity of access to treatment for patients globally. To mark the day, six special events are taking place around the world to encourage discussion and spur action towards the delivery of ‘#SkinHealthforAll’. They will also serve as examples of how individuals and organisations can get involved, both this year and in future years. "World Skin Health Day is an exciting opportunity to raise awareness and understanding of the impact of skin diseases and to advocate for higher standards of dermatological care and improved access to it. We’re grateful to CeraVe for its generous support this year, which has enabled us to expand our campaign and to support the six inspiring regional events that will shortly take place. We look forward to our first official World Skin Health Day and trust it will become a powerful platform for change in the years ahead, resulting in higher levels of understanding of skin diseases and greater investment into research and into the development of innovative diagnostic tools and new treatments." - ILDS President, Prof Henry W.
