🌊 Did you know tyre wear is the second biggest microplastic pollutant in our oceans? Hugo Richardson and the The Tyre Collective are actively fighting tyre wear pollution with patent-pending technology to capture tyre wear and other non-exhaust emissions produced right at the wheel. Having just completed the CRL Accelerator, Hugo said that the programme and its support helped “get us ready for mass manufacture and developing our MVP.” But their journey is just beginning... this spring alone, the team at The Tyre Collective has raised over £342k with a successful Crowdcube campaign, have won a £250k grant from Innovate UK, are collaborating with the TRANSPORT RESEARCH LABORATORY LIMITED AND are exhibiting next week at The Goodwood Group's Festival of Speed 🤯 This team of visionaries are driving transformation and challenging the standards of zero-emission mobility.  🚀 Meet Angus Clifford - one of our newest Residency members, who has recently finished his Product Design BSc course from the University of Brighton where he specialised in textiles. Since wrapping up his degrees, Angus has been focused on his own innovative project, diverting the waste of textiles from landfill and highlighting social issues surrounding takeaways and delivery drivers at the same time. “I wanted to raise awareness of the harsh conditions that people, feeding the takeaway habit of the country, have to face.” Angus' critical design project was so powerful, we knew he needed space to explore and build on his existing work at ReUSed, so we offered him a space on our three-month Residency. He is already making waves in the space, is excited to use the laser cutter in the workshop, is collaborating with other members like gomi (watch this space) and is exhibiting at New Designers next week (3rd-6th July) in London 🙌 We’re thrilled to have Angus in the space, and can’t wait to see what he achieves on this three-month Residency programme. #Startup #innovation #programme #textiles #ND24 #NewDesigners #materials #design
