As a developer one never stops learning. There are tons of resources on the web to learn and improve, from step by step guides to video tutorials on YouTube. Learning outside the job is (in my opinion) extremely important for a developer and the earlier one realises that, the better it is.

The real-time systems that FMS v1 communicated with changed with a larger Thomson Reuters project called Electron. The real-time systems were meant to be faster than before and there was a greater push for adoption of these system.
FMS was required to communicate more of these systems in a faster manner. Under the hood, entire application (frontend and backend) was reworked to accommodate the new requirements. I joined Thomson Reuters to work on a project called FMS - File Management System. The goal of this system was to act as an intermediary between Data Analysts and Reuters systems that hold real-time data from exchanges.
My primary work was to develop Windows Service that featured extensive use of multi-threading to communicate with various servers
