How has digital communication impacted crisis management in Strategic Communications?
Digital tools have for some time leveled the playing field between brand voices and others in a debate, disagreement or otherwise contentious issue. Whilst brands may have the money to pay for advertising, all voices in a debate will have the same tools to engage audiences. Brands need to engage people through what they say, not just because they have access to audiences in a way others don't (because often they don't).

Exporting is GREAT
Engine was appointed to help 100,000 UK businesses to start exporting by 2020. More than just an advertising campaign, to address this challenge we needed to not only talk about opportunity but to connect British businesses with live opportunities.
We first designed a digital service – replacing a previously hidden and hard-to-use online tool with a new site designed to connect businesses with opportunities. Rather than being hidden away, this site was the centre of the new campaign –…Engine was appointed to help 100,000 UK businesses to start exporting by 2020. More than just an advertising campaign, to address this challenge we needed to not only talk about opportunity but to connect British businesses with live opportunities.
We first designed a digital service – replacing a previously hidden and hard-to-use online tool with a new site designed to connect businesses with opportunities. Rather than being hidden away, this site was the centre of the new campaign – pulling live opportunities from the site into the advertising and then sending people back to the site. In the first two months of the campaign we had driven 250,000 visits to the new site 40% of these were new to exporting
