Thank you -most businesses in Australia soley run off an ABN unless they are a company.

We’ve heard back from the processor and they’ve confirmed that a sole trader account should only require an ABN — the onboarding should not request an ACN:

Are you 100% certain you selected to create an individual/sole trader account during the setup?
Searching our systems, the other cases of this I’m seeing were ones where the site owner accidentally selected to create a Business account, rather than an individual account.

Thanks for your reply – whats happens is when you try to set up the account after entering the ABN it requires the ACN and if you don’t input the ACN you can’t go any further as it’s a required field.

I am encountering the same issue om my Woocommerce setup, I have an ABN number, but not an ACN.
During setup I selected ‘business’, but I now think it should have been ‘sole trader’ and I am unable to change this back now.
Is there a solution to this issue or should I open up a ticket?

Hi Elien
Yes the solution is you must use the sole trader drop down and if you set up once already – you need to ask them to cancel the account then redo it

Like @trayci please redo the setup to select Sole Trader.
You can create a ticket with us directly to request the previous account be deleted.
You can create a ticket with us at WooCommerce.com > My Account > Support. You may need to create an account before you can access that page.
