With an introduction by "Ellery Queen" (Frederic Dannay and Manfred B. Lee) tracing the history of Sherlock Holmes's many "appellative disguises" in pastiche as Fetlock Bones, Herlock Domes, Hamhock Jones, and the like, through to Derleth's own Solar Pons. A Shaw 100 title. 7.25'' x 5''. Original black cloth. In original price-clipped dust jacket by Frank Utpatel. xxii, 245, [1] pages. Edition of 2000 copies. Though no provenance markings, this copy from the library of noted Sherlockian and former federal magistrate judge Andrew Peck. Light wear to jacket, with gentle toning to spine and margins. Book with some offsetting to endpapers, else bright and clean.
