A binder with 66 original 8" x 10" photographs that served as the film set continuity book for the film noir Hangover Square (1945). Freely adapted from Patrick Hamilton's 1941 novel, this 20th Century Fox production concerns a mild-mannered composer turned psychotic killer in Edwardian London. It was directed by John Brahm and starred Laird Cregar, Linda Darnell, and George Sanders, with art direction by the Academy Award-winning set decorator Thomas Little. Laird Cregar (1913-44), a fan of Hamilton's novel, encouraged 20th Century Fox to acquire the film rights. Fox agreed, and in hopes of recreating the success it had enjoyed with The Lodger (1944), reunited Cregar with George Sanders and John Brahm. Cregar, who has ambitions of being a leading man, realized he could use his romantic scenes with Linda Darnell and Faye Marlowe to his advantage in order to change his public image and began a radical crash diet using amphetamines to give his character more physical appeal. As such, the film had to be shot entirely in sequence so as to be consistent with Cregar's real-life weight loss. This shedding placed considerable strain on Cregar's system, resulting in abdominal issues. Following surgery, he suffered a fatal heart attack, about two months before the film's release. The photographs are two-hole punched and bound with a metal clip in plain brown paper wrappers with typed titles on the front panel. The images are clean and unblemished. Some light toning and wear to the wrappers.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: Grumpy on Deer Layout Drawing (Walt Disney, 1937). Grumpy rides to the rescue on a reindeer in this original drawing from Disney's first animated feature film. These two drawings are in graphite and colored pencil with a red pencil border, with an image size of 7" x 5". In 1989, the United States Library of Congress deemed Disney's Snow White "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant" and selected it as one of the first 25 films for preservation in the National Film Registry. The American Film Institute ranked it among the 100 greatest American films, and also named the film as the greatest American animated film of all time in 2008. The images have been professionally mounted and framed. They were acquired at a Los Angeles County Public Assessor's auction in the early 1990s, and are being sold on behalf of the family of Roger Gozdecki.
