All three volumes, obviously unread, are tight, square and truly Fine in their original dust jackets, Plexus and Nexus both Fine but for minuscule wear, hardly noticeable, at spine crown; the jacket on Sexus, however, also has some slight chipping at spine crown as well as a diagonal closed tear of about one inch extending down from crown. That said, this is a very collectible set in the original (quite worn at the top) Grove Press cardboard slipcase.

Rear pocket of each volume contain two folding maps, loose as issued. 547pp in Volume One and 540pp in Volume Two. Originally appearing in 1890, these two volumes comprise the fascinating account of Stanley's brave and adventurous expedition to bring Emin Pasha to freedom. A better than very good set, the dark green cloth fresh with modest wear (as usual) at spine extremities but with the gilt titles and gilt author's facsimile signature unusually fresh and splendidly bright, the set presents extremely well.
