Desire knows no reason...
When Lady Delilah Chambers finds herself stranded at a country inn on a rain-swept evening, she’s forced to fend off a group of ruffians with the help of a handsome gentleman. Irresistibly drawn to each other, Leela and the stranger spend one reckless night in each others’ arms—and then go their separate ways. But the very next day Leela receives the shock of her life when she meets the duke who is set on wedding her beloved stepdaughter.
When it finds two destined hearts...
One night isn’t enough with a woman as fierce, fiery, and brilliant as Leela. Elliot Townsend, Duke of Huntington, cannot believe his good fortune when their chance encounter leads to an unforgettable evening of passion. Yet Hunt’s luck runs out when he is introduced to his prospective mother-in-law. Dowagers aren’t supposed to look like this...
Leela and Hunt are determined to keep each other at arm’s length, which should be easy enough for two intelligent adults with reputations to uphold. The problem is all logic is lost when it comes to a passion that refuses to be ignored.

Editorial Reviews
Review
"Leela is a truly breathtaking heroine, a woman who is not only a tender, caring stepmother and a scorching lover, but also an astute businesswoman and travel writer...Her Night with the Duke is a shimmering tale of a taboo connection turned empowerment narrative, as both Leela and Elliot must learn to claim the life they deserve, society be damned." (Entertainment Weekly)
"Leela and Hunt's amorous scenes are page-turners, but it's Quincy's extraordinary ability to convey complex emotions that sets the book apart." (Kirkus Starred Review)
"Quincy cleverly incorporates much-loved genre tropes into the daringly sensual plot of her print romance debut, and this combined with the refreshingly original, boldly adventurous heroine, who fully embraces her Middle Eastern family origins, makes this marvelously entertaining love story..." (Booklist Starred Review)
"Unputdownable...Sexy, romantic, and unexpectedly contemporary in its approach, this is sure to win over readers with its spitfire heroine and humble hero." (Publishers Weekly Starred Review)
"Quincy delivers one of her trademark, unputdownable, outrageously sexy, absolutely delightful romances, and readers are going to adore it." (Sarah MacLean, New York Times bestselling author)
Praise for Diana Quincy: "Sweet, steamy and thoroughly enjoyable..." (Grace Burrows, New York Times bestselling author)
Praise for Diana Quincy: "Lovers of historical fiction could hardly do better than Diana Quincy..." (Fresh Fiction)

I give Her Night with the Duke 4 stars for its lovely read.
I would recommend this book to Historical Romance fans.
When Lady Delilah Chambers finds herself stranded at a country inn, she's grateful for the help of a handsome stranger to fend off a group of unruly men. Drawn to each other, Leela and the man spend one passionate night together before parting ways. So imagine Leela's shock when she discovers the man she spent the night with is the duke who wants to wed her stepdaughter. Elliot Townsend, Duke of Huntington, is drawn to Leela but he is determined to keep her at arm's length after learning she is the stepmother of his prospective bride. But the passion between them defies logic and refuses to be denied.
Leela was by far my favorite thing about this book. She is the daughter of an English marquess and the daughter of an Arabic merchant but was raised only on English customs. Leela is strong-willed, intelligent, and refuses to bow to Society's whims. I liked that she knew what she wanted from life and that she wasn't going to let anyone stop her from getting it. Hunt was where I had a bit of a problem as I didn't enjoy his character the way I did Leela's. He's obsessed with avoiding scandal and he lets that dictate his life. His night with Leela was out of character for him and he struggles with what he perceives as his out of control behavior.
Leela and Hunt have amazing chemistry right from the start and I really enjoyed the physical side of their relationship. The scenes are steamy and fantastically done. After the pair find out their connection via Leela's stepdaughter, Victoria, their relationship takes somewhat of a pause. They're both still obviously attracted to one another but they want to do the right thing and take a step back since Hunt is supposed to court Victoria. During the time Hunt is courting Victoria, it's clear that Leela is the one he really wants. I will say the Victoria situation went on longer than I was expecting it to so I was very happy when that finished and the pair could finally be together. There were a few other roadblocks to the pair being together but I was happy with the way they were worked through.
Overall I enjoyed Her Night with the Duke even though I didn't love the hero and I will definitely be picking up the next book in the series, The Viscount Made Me Do It, soon.
Complex and complicated don't even describe what is going on in this book.
This book contained a pillow humping scene- which was an awesome surprise. I don’t know that I’ve ever read that before, but women do this all the time & I loved how Quincy normalized it.
Really intrigued about Viscount Griffin!

This was a fun read, and I really enjoyed Leela and Hunt's predicament as well as all the delicious chemistry between them. I don't think this was the best regency romance I had read as there were definitely some parts in the middle that dragged a bit, and felt a little bit boring but I still very much enjoyed the world and figuring out how Leela and Hunt would sort everything out.
Leela was an interesting character to follow as unlike other characters I've read in similar books, she is a young widow and therefore has a bit more freedom than other women her age. She also didn't care much about society and was finally free to travel as much as she wanted, and learn more about her mother's side of the family. Her mother was Arabic and so Leela does tend to get looked down to sometimes in this book because of her heritage and suffers some racism because of it. I loved the chapters where Leela got to know her family more.
I also really liked that Leela was an author in this book too, and the story highlighted how hard it was for female writers to be taken seriously and be given a fair wage for their work. It was so frustrating to see how Leela had to struggle to get her book published when she had already been so successful when people thought she was a male writer.
Weirdly, one of the things I liked the most in this book was seeing all the obvious signs that the next book would be about Hunt's friend Griff. I really can't wait for that one but it was probably a bad sign that sometimes I was more excited to read Griff's story than continue to read Leela and Hunt's.
I did think this book was going to go down the slightly unconventional route in this genre where the couple didn't necessarily have to have a new arrival by the epilogue and given everything that had previously been discussed, I was hoping to see something more of their travels together (perhaps an adoption instead?) but nope. Which was a disappointment!
