Excellent hot weather cap!
This cooling hat performed well above my expectations! I have a similar cloth-style cap that i've used for many years which only covers the back of the neck. This one has ample side coverage in addition to the extended back of the neck. There is an elastic band which makes this cap fit a wide range of head sizes. At first I was concerned that the tight band would bother me after a while, but it's very comfortable and after a minute or two, I didn't notice it anymore. It also comes with some hook/loop closures to keep the flaps together (not sure there is an advantage one way or the other, but i kept them closed together) - they also help to keep the flaps down where they should be providing protection from the sun.Now, the first time I had the opportunity to try out the cooling feature was last night. I needed to mow the lawn and I was going to be out in the heat for about an hour (45-50min minimum). I ran the entire cap under cool water from the tap and then squeezed out the majority of it before putting it on and heading outside. Now, this was about an hour before sunset and it was about 91°F outside with little to no shade. I don't know if the product claims of 30° cooler are accurate, but I will say with confidence that my neck, ears, head, and face were MUCH more comfortable than with my other cap and infinitely better than nothing! I was able to work for about 30 minutes before even the first drop of sweat appeared on my forehead - and even then I could use the cool ends of the flaps to dab it off and immediately get some relief.Overall, this is a fantastic way to keep the sun off of exposed skin and maintain a cool and comfortable environment through the heat. Would recommend highly and deserving of 5 stars
