I own two of these hats. I bought the tan Sun Tripper cap at the Sunday Afternoons store in Ashland Oregon, in spring 2017. The Mesa Red/Slate cap came from Amazon in October 2020. I took the picture comparing the two on October 19, 2021 and they both look brand new.I bought the Mesa Red/Slate hat because I was tired of my 10 year old son borrowing mine. I wouldn't normally pay $28 for a kids hat, but this is a DURABLE, quality hat. I ordered him a size medium and the cord adjustment in the back tightened enough to fit just right.Have I mentioned it *folds* !!!?? That was definitely a selling point for me. It fits in my purse, the door of my car, the side of my hiking pack and in my pants back pocket. SO convenient !Other reviewers mentioned stains, but we haven't had any problems. Note our family picture, you can clearly see sweat soaking through the Mesa Red hat my son is wearing. I throw it in the washing machine on cold (and air dry) and the sweat always comes out. I know it says hand wash only, but I don't have time for that. Ours get machine washed once or twice a month.Just one reason it's not a 5 star: at 2 3/8 inch brim, it's just enough for sun coverage but 1/4" or 1/2" more would be incredible !

This is a great cap. It's cool, comfortable, and is foldable to pack anywhere. It also stays on my head which is always an issue with my small head. i work horses all day long and am constantly dismounting to pick up my cap that always flies off. But not with this one! It stays on. You can also soak it in cool water to keep your head cool. I highly recommend.

I really like the shape which is flatter on the top. considering I have a small head the pull cord in the back helps to tighten to fit my head since they don’t offer size small, I had to get the medium… works though there is a little more excess fabric created in the back.

As the headline states, my only issue is that it runs a little smaller than I'd like, which did make it mildly uncomfortable prior to cutting my hair.

Other than that, it's super lightweight and oddly durable. in the few weeks I've had it it's been amazing.
I work in a hotel that's surprisingly humid, so I wanted something that would help with the sun and sweat and this hat does both flawlessly, while easy to wash.

Every week I take a tide pen to the head-liner and hand wash with cold water for less than 10 minutes. and air dry for 30 min (or 10 min using a hair dryer on low/medium heat). Have not seen any shrinkage or expansion of the liner, or the rest of the hat.

If you can find this on sale, I would absolutely recommend it, it's worth the asking price as it is, but I know I'll be buying a few others if I ever see a price drop!

I ordered this hoping that it would fit tightly. I pulled the cord as tight as I could and it was still a bit lose. I did take a chance by wearing this on a motorcycle ride. I held onto it most of the time, but I did lose my grip and off it blew!! My fault..
