Diana Quincy returns with the second novel in her Clandestine Affairs series featuring a steamy romance between a working class London bonesetter who is dangerously attracted to her mysterious noble client.

A seduction that could ruin everything . . .

Hanna Zaydan has fought to become London’s finest bonesetter, but her appealing new patient threatens to destroy everything she’s worked so hard for. With each appointment, the daughter of foreign merchants is slowly seduced by the mysterious former soldier. She’s smart enough to know Griff is after more than he’ll reveal, but whatever it is, the bonesetter’s growing desire for the man just might tempt her to give it to him.

An attraction that cannot be denied . . .

Rumors that he killed his own parents have followed Thomas Ellis, Viscount Griffin, practically since he was a boy. More than a decade after the tragedy, Griff receives a tip about his parents’ killer . . . one that takes him straight to a beautiful bonesetter. Griff is convinced Hanna is a fraud, but she stirs genuine feelings in him that he thought had perished along with his family.

Hanna has a gift for fixing fractured people, but can she also mend a broken heart? More importantly, will Griff let her?

Editorial Reviews

Review

"Entrancing... As in book one, mutual pining is the driving force here, keeping the romantic tension high and the passion sizzling until the end. Fans will be pleased to see the series going strong." — Publishers Weekly

"...a classic Regency romance. What sets it apart is Hanna, a strongly written heroine who embodies a community and a career that aren’t often seen in the subgenre...those who enjoyed the unique perspective of Her Night With the Duke (2020) will appreciate this one as well." — Kirkus Reviews

"Vivid, bold, witty, and seductive! Diana Quincy is your new historical romance obsession."  — Lenora Bell, USA Today bestselling author, on Her Night with a Duke

Her Night with the Duke is an original story that will grab you from the first page and not let go. The angst level is deliciously high and I had no idea how Leela and Hunt were going to work this out... This is a book not to be missed!” — Joanna Shupe, award-winning author of The Devil of Downtown

“Leela and Hunt’s amorous scenes are page-turners, but it’s Quincy’s extraordinary ability to convey complex emotions that sets the book apart.”  — Kirkus Reviews (starred review) on Her Night with a Duke

“Quincy cleverly incorporates much-loved genre tropes into the daringly sensual plot of her print romance debut, and this combined with the refreshingly original, boldly adventurous heroine, who fully embraces her Middle Eastern family origins, makes this marvelously entertaining love story.”  — Booklist (starred review) on Her Night with a Duke

“Quincy (‘Rebellious Brides’ series) delivers a steamy Regency fraught with family discord as well as societal and racial prejudices. This gripping series starter ultimately triumphs with an honorable hero and a spirited Anglo-Arab heroine who fights for acceptance and love on her own terms.”  — Library Journal (starred review) on Her Night with a Duke

Praise for Diana Quincy: “Lovers of historical fiction could hardly do better than Diana Quincy…” — Fresh Fiction

I<3 Hanna!!

I<3 Hanna!!
you know when you see someone and just IMMEDIATELY fall so hard for them?? and like, they’re so gorgeous, so smart, everything they do is so amazing & you just wanna ✨bask✨ in the glory that they emanate? Yeah, so that’s how I felt about Miss Hanna Zaydan in Diana Quincy’s latest book The Viscount Made Me Do It🥰tbh I just— like I wanna be her??? From the moment she steps on page, Hanna is extremely self assured, commanding the space with her skill and her intelligence. She’s passionate (and ~very~ skilled) when it comes to her work, and tirelessly serves the people in her community despite receiving prejudice because of her identity as an Arabic woman and her occupation as a bonesetter. There was so much of this book that I enjoyed (heLLOOO Griff is my favorite kind of hero, gone for his gal from day one😍 plus seeing Leela again was such a treat!!) but Hanna was just knocked me ~right~ off my feet! I loved her fierce independence, her sharp with, her relationship with her family—her brother in particular, when do we get Ravi and Selina’s book👀— and like not to dwell too much on her work as a bonesetter, but talk about COMPETENCE PORN!!I also enjoyed the murder mystery plot that drove some of the external action in this one! I think sometimes this might've done more of the legwork in terms of driving the story than the romance did, but overall I still enjoyed itThe Viscount Made Me Do It dropped this Tuesday, and if you haven’t read Diana Quincy yet you definitely gotta check this one out!! Will their differences be too much against them …
I do not know if it is the nurse in me, but since I have read “Hello, Stranger”, I am sold to any historical romance book about a healer.
Plus this one was my first read by the author.
From the first minute, I was sucked into the pages, I even struggled to lift my eyes from the words.
The author paints a moving vivid colorful rich clash of many worlds at one time. As it is not only the collision of a commoner life with a peer’s but also of the East with the West.
Plus it was more than a simple romance with the added mystery.
Hanna is set on her path, she is a bonesetter as her father was, it is her calling and nothing will alter her path. Alas as a woman, she faces many trials, from the view no woman is a true healer as they lack the knowledge from her practice being seen as quackery plus her foreign origins. She is in for a difficult journey.
She is used to have to prove her worth, so when a man comes calling with an injured arm, she knows he will doubt her skill, but she quickly proves him wrong. All the while trying to keep him at arms-length as he unsettles her, arising new feelings and sensations. When she knows from the beginning anything between them is impossible.
Griff is no rake nor scoundrel, he might be a titled peer, it is not really welcome into the ton, his name tarnished by past rumors. So he quite strictly stays by himself, not really mingling. Until he got an unexpected insight about a stolen jewel recently returned to him. Following the lead, he witnesses the act of a woman standing her ground over some bullies, until he realizes she might also have answers. So to arrange a meeting, he uses his war wound as an excuse. So sure, she is a fraud. So when she resets his bones to their right place and gives him back his life free of pain, it shreds his blinders and makes him see her as much more than an attractive woman.

Their relationship is up to many ups and downs, even more when he has secrets. Still, despite everything they find a way to go forward, never letting the constraints of their differences stop them. There are many impediments for them to be together, they walk a thin line between scandal and rejection. Yet they need the other like lungs air, but will it be enough with so many hurdles against them.
I adored my travel to Hanna’s world, she is the breathing example of a successful upbringing, she bears the two worlds signature all the while creating her own. The added mystery was fun to unravel, even if the villain is obvious from the beginning. It even kept me on edge as to why and how will they unmask him.

I really liked The Viscount made me Do It. Griffen and Hanna's story was so good. Hanna is a spitfire and I admired her strength as a woman Bonesetter in a time when that was unheard of. I loved her large family. I enjoyed the mystery about the Jewelry and the way Griff and Hanna solved it. Book #2 also features Leela and Hunt from book #1 which I enjoyed. Loved the ending and I'm looking forward to reading book #3.

I give The Viscount Made Me Do It 4 stars for its interesting read.
I would recommend this book to Historical Romance fans.

I loved this book. It was such a quick read! The bonesetter who is outcast from society because people feel as if she is charlatan. Griff who been outcasted by society due to his parents death. This book had little mystery and love all wrapped into one!

3.5 ⭐️

Shout-out to Diana Quincy for writing a viscount/bonesetter couple in The Viscount Made Me Do It, a daring combo that was fun to read for the first time.

Hanna Zaydan is the bonesetter in question, a woman who faces discrimination on account of her profession, her sex, & her Arabic ancestry & culture. But she’s not bowing down to anyone’s idea of what she should do, not even her mother & grandmother, who want her to marry an Arabic man & stop practicing bonesetting.

Viscount Thomas Ellis “Griff” has spent the last couple of years in tremendous pain but that’s not why he visits Hanna. It’s because he sees her wearing his murdered mother’s necklace & wants to question her about its providence.

The fact that she heals his arm when others haven’t been able to garners his respect for life & her beauty & demeanor capture his more romantic admiration.

But there are big obstacles between them & tbh, I had my doubts about how it would all work out.

The characterization of Hanna is often delightful. She’s ambitious, skilled, & she really isn’t afraid of much. There’s a flower scene with Griff—where she really lets her feelings go— that I adore.

But Griff is frequently frustrating to me. One mark in his favor is his appreciation for Hanna’s skill, but I find his overall attitude toward her & their relationship to be not as romantic as I would like. There are a couple of moments where I feel like he’s somewhat cold.

Hanna is a compelling heroine but sadly the romance in this one is a little lackluster for me.

Good read.
I really like this author.
I have been reading more books lately that are less "tonish" and have a little more intrigue and suspense. It's been fun reading something different.
You will enjoy this read.

Everything you love in a Regency romance, with the addition of a diverse cast, heroine with an interesting job, and a dash of mystery. And incredibly sexy. Loved it!

I really enjoyed this. I guessed who done it right away, but I don't mind, I actually enjoy being able to do that. I loved learning about the practice of bonesetting, and am fascinated to know it was not part of white English doctors' repertoire. I know chiropracty is still separated out but what kind of doctor can't even fix a dislocated shoulder? Anyway, as someone with chronic pain I enjoyed seeing a main character who had bad pain for two years and experienced vicarious relief through his treatment. Also love a lady doctor, and how it was shown that her family put just as much value on her marrying an Arab as the gentry put on marrying other gentry. Also loved that the hero had a woman friend who he was close with and it was platonic! What a concept!
Yeah, it was lovely in so many aspects. Highly recommend, looking forward to the next in the series!
