I will forget to start wooden skewers soaking in advance and worry about making skewers in advance in case the wood dries back out. These metal skewers are sharp enough to easily thread on meat and work well on narrow grill for skewers since they are flat and don't roll over as easy. If you use these on a regular full size grill the metal will get hot obviously but should cool down fairly quickly. The skewers are magnetic so they are not solid stainless steel but seem to be plaited well enough they should hold up.

Now these will not hold 2 pounds of stuff on a kabob, but you really shouldn't be loading a kabob that much anyway. The count of skewers makes it easy to cook a lot of stuff in quick, smaller batches, and they are nicely sharp so the food goes on easily. Quite pleased, these are great for singles or a couple, or even a small gathering of family or friends.
