I have a small head so don't often buy hats by mail order. This one looked promising and is everything I hoped for. It has a drawstring at the base, so it can fit perfectly, settling above my ears and staying put. It is lightweight and airy, so I don't get hot while keeping sun out of my eyes. The chin strap allows me to slip it off and then back on again, as needed. It doesn't go anywhere. The pastel purple is light enough to be reflective and is a lovely color. I like the mesh. Nice airflow. The brim is great. The back flap keeps sun off my neck better than if the hat had a brim full circle. Very comfortable. Easy to pack. Possibly I don't even look ridiculous. I'm very happy with this hat.

I have used gardening hats for many years, some commercially made, some homemade. When it came time to replace the one I had been using for years, I thought I should try this one, with the huge brim and neck shade (living in South Florida, the sun can be intense, as well as the humidity. This hat is PERFECT for my needs. The adjustability of the head size is wonderful, the fabric is light-weight and cool, as is the side-venting and pony-tail opening. Much superior to all my other hats over the previous decades. The chin strap is adjustable of course, and can be tucked into the hat if not needed. I highly recommend. (I haven't washed it yet, but if there is a problem after I do, I will amend this rating. Go for it!

Used it swimming and walking along the beach.
What I liked: I like that it was longer in the back to protect neck and face. The brim wasn't constantly floppy, but wouldn't call it sturdy either. Liked the string to keep hat on in the wind, but it didn't maintain good fit, would slip. It also has a 2nd draw string to adjust head fit. Good ventilation, light weight and packed well.
What I didn't like: Chin strap needs to be reengineered. Brim not rigid.
Overall it was a good price and kept the sun off my face, but not perfect.

I have a very big head and other similar hats have been too snug but this one fits comfortably and has elastic to tighten. The only issue I have had is the neck tightener piece can get off track but it’s easy to fix. This is perfect for the extra sun protection and the white color with purple trim is subtly stylish.

This pretty light purple, lightweight UV protection hat is nice for someone who casually wants to reduce the amount of sun on their face. It is worth the price for casual use. I bought it for a medical condition where I needed as much of a full sun block as possible. The mesh side walls do allow for air circulation but also feel like they allow some sun rays to burn against my scalp. I don't use the generous ponytail opening, and so I definitely feel the sun rays burning against the back of my scalp. I haven't yet decided if I will keep it or not.
