I am one of those people who burns if they even look at the sun, so I am very well experienced with a wide variety of sun hats and parasols. Unfortunately, I also have a very big head for a woman (23.5 inches) which means that most hats just don't fit. I usually buy hats from a different brand that likes to be worn on sundays and afternoons (which juuuuuust fit snugly), but I wanted a few hats to tuck in various locations for emergencies, etc, and I hate to spend that kind of money on something I won't be wearing very often. This hat was perfect! The quality isn't quite as nice as the pricier brands, but is on-point for a $15 hat and perfectly adequate. The sizing is the most generous I have encountered so far; the hat sits a little shallow, and doesn't constrict my head at all, so it gets major points for that. Good deep brim that completely shades my face, and a back cape that covers pretty much all of the neck area that would be exposed by a basic t-shirt. I'm buying more!

I'm thankful I know how to sew as I needed to modify this hat. The brim is very adequate for coverage. The cap part is not adjustable, it was too loose, the tie in the back was not sewn in the correct place for tightening. I did trim some of the long fabric hanging in the back, it was just too long. The hat is very well made and of a durable fabric.
