Product Description
What kind of power cable and transformer should I need?
e.g Suppose there is a set of 4 path lights (each 3W) and 2 flood lights (each 4.5W) need to be installed in the garden, How to choose the cable and the transformer? (Cable and transformer not included)
1. Add the individual light fixture wattages for all lights. 4*3W+2*4.5W=21W
2. The typical distance between two lights is 6-8 feet, but closer or farther is ok too. Based on the above diagram, 6 lights total watts in 0-60 should choose 75-100ft 16AWG power cable.
3. Transformer is large enough to support the Total Fixture Wattage, it should be the best usage within 80 percent of the rated capacity. So in this case a 45W transformer is enough.
Note: A transformer that is too large for the load may overdrive the lamps which will shorten their life spans.

Wide angle wash
Was searching for wall wash lights with a wide angle wash and durable construction that didn’t break the bank. These ones were perfect. I placed them back from the wall about 18” and spaced them every 13’. They are very bright. Originally had them at 9’ and was worried the neighbors would start to complain. The connectors were very easy to install on 12 ga wire.

I bought these lights to replace some old lights on my entry walkway and tried to match the Craftsman style of the house entry light. While not an exact match, they are compatible and I think quite attractive, put out a lot of light and produce an interesting lighting pattern. They appear to be well-made and durable enough to withstand the weather for many years. Installation into my existing system was a little difficult, mainly to locate the old cable, remove the old lights, connect the new lights using the connectors provided, and wrap the connectors in electrical tape to try to prevent in-leakage when they are buried in an area subject to watering. Using the connectors is easier than cutting and splicing the cable but take quite a bit of force to penetrate the insulation of the old cable; I used grippers that worked fairly well. I'm still a little concerned that the electrical tape may not prevent leakage over time and allow the light to short out. Perhaps best of all was the low price, less than half of the alternate I was considering of a similar design.
