I bought these 17" skewers to span them over a fire pit. The skewers are sturdy and of good quality that supporting them only on two points is not a problem. They are also long enough to leave the handles out of the direct heat. The fact that they are bar-shaped means the kabab will not roll by gravity and I can flip it upside down easily.
I bought these at $12.99; great value. (This is my second purchase. The first set costed a few bucks more.)
These are easy to clean in my opinion. If the food got baked onto the surface, the stain would be hard to get off, just like other stainless steel cookware. But, I do not mind the stain so a good soak and scrap does the job.
