Do you have a spot in your home that you need light to come on without flipping a switch? This product is perfect for that. It comes in a two pack and I have one by the back door going into the garage and inside my shed outside to have light at night asI open the door. The light uses 4 D batteries, not included. The light comes on as soon as there is movement by the light. The light is bright ....and in the shed , lights upon the whole 10'x12' shed in enough light to see everything inside. It was very easy to install and also very easy to change the batteries. I fully recommend this product.

These are just great lights. My original set is going on 7 years old and they still work just fine. They've been through sun and heat, rain and hail, and snow and ice, and keep on going. I use them outside along our dog run fence to give light to our older dogs at night but also to scare aware skunks and other critters. The D batteries might turn some people off, but unless the lights are running a lot, I've found the batteries last far longer than I expected. The motion detection is a happy medium - not overly sensitive nor too slow to react. The casing is very durable and the lights themselves are probably the brightest I could find on Amazon for this type of light. Great product.

Don't get me wrong, I like the Mr. Beams outdoor lights, having order 4 or 5 in the last few years. They're bright, easily to assemble and adjust, and for the most part, built quite hefty. Now the only drawback is that I wish they had some sort of a silicon seal or gasket when between the enclosed battery unit and the outdoor holder which clamps to the outer wall or railing. It only seems natural that if these are going to be used outdoors, that they'll get rained on or dust will enter. Admittedly, this has only happened to one of my units, me opening it up after a particularly heavy rainstorm and finding the casing emptying quite a bit of water in my hand (as in half a cup, or so it seemed)...the light was dead, even after I brought it indoors and dried it out for 24 hours. Admittedly, I should have checked these lights sooner, my dog being my tester of sorts as he runs up and down in the backyard at night. But this unit happened to be somewhat in the area of my floodlights and I guess I just assumed it was always working...my bad. No big deal, the others have worked fine, one of them for over a year now. With regular use, these do burn through those D cells...but for the convenience of a 30-second light, and ones that go up everywhere without blinding your neighbor, these lights are perfect. I did buy a set of cheaper lights and while a bit clunkier, noticed that they come with a silicon gasket and appear just as bright (although they advertise as brighter at 600 lumen...not). Hey, a silicon gasket, what a great idea Mr. Beams...

We recently purchased a shed to go in our back yard. The shed is located a decent distance from our house and since it is not wired for electricity, we needed something that would provide some light if we were to go out back at night/dusk.

This light unit had some very good reviews and was listed at a reasonable price so we decided ordered it. After we installed the batteries, I proceeded to go mount the light on the shed. I decided to place it high near the peek and under the overhand on the front of the shed. Since I was mounting it on the outside I wanted to make sure that I used screws which would not rust. Screws were provided in the box but I could not determine if they were stainless so I opted for some dark grey deck screws I had on hand. I removed the light from the mounting base to make the installation go smoothly. I pre-drilled holes for the screws after marking the placement with a pencil through the openings. Once drilled, I screwed the base to the shed and attached the light to the base tightening the thumb screw once the angle and proper position were achieved. I made sure to position the light first (prior to securing with screws) with the light fully assembled to ensure that I had enough clearance to remove the light down the road when the batteries need to be changed.

After it was dark, I went out to see how well it was going to work. The motion sensor picked me up about 15-18 feet away from the shed and the LED lights shined to a radius well over that. It was nice and bright. After a few minutes the light went out, but as soon as I moved, it popped back on.

I think this will be a good addition to the shed. It will help me see at night and will help deter any thieves should they try to sneak up on it. Overall, I am very satisfied.

These are great. One is pointed towards my very dark backyard and lights up when my dogs run out. The other is pointed toward my pool, and lights up if someone is swimming . It’s a great safety feature.
