Story
Summers span decades. Winter can last a lifetime. And the struggle for the Iron Throne has begun. As Warden of the north, Lord Eddard Stark counts it a curse when King Robert bestows on him the office of the Hand. His honour weighs him down at court where a true man does what he will, not what he must...and a dead enemy is a thing of beauty. The old gods have no power in the south, Stark’s family is split and there is treachery at court. Worse, the vengeance-mad heir of the deposed Dragon King has grown to maturity in exile in the Free Cities. He claims the Iron Throne.

Great story but the narrator sound like he could be reading an instruction manual for flat pack furniture. You would have hoped the producer had realised it wasn't working and sacked him. oh jeeze so I have to try and listed to this to progress in the SK's wonderful story arc? pfffft. read it instead people.

Really enjoyed the narration as it was obvious that the reader did too. for me he nailled the characters and makes the effort of getting under the skin on Eddie Susanna and Rowland.

Story
Richard Morgan has always been one of our most successful SF authors, with his fast-moving and brutal storylines, blistering plots and a powerful social conscience behind his work. And now he's back, with his first SF novel for eight years...and it promises to be an audiobook to remember. An ex-corporate enforcer, Hakan Veil, is forced to bodyguard Madison Madekwe, part of a colonial audit team investigating a disappeared lottery winner on Mars. But when Madekwe is abducted and Hakan nearly killed, the investigation takes him farther and deeper than he had ever expected.
