A very clever mystery story outline
Reviewed: 20-10-23
A very engaging and well written story which once started could not be put down but what I find intriguing is the way the author must have plotted from the start the interwoven lives of the seven sisters which will make the reader want to no doubt read every book in the series. Well done.

Story
Ariel Price wakes up in Lisbon, alone. Her husband is gone—no warning, no note, not answering his phone. Something is wrong. She starts with hotel security, then the police, then the American embassy, at each confronting questions she can't fully answer: What exactly is John doing in Lisbon? Why would he drag her along on his business trip? Who would want to harm him? And why does Ariel know so little about her new, much younger, husband? The clock is ticking.

Revenge is best served cold!

Like other reviewers’ comments, I found the story a little overlong and complicated but with so many smart twists and turns, the story kept me wanting to keep going. It was well written and well narrated. I thoroughly recommend it.

A great story teller covering two countries

Kathryn Hughes’s books are ‘unputdownable’ right until the end, whether as written or audio form.
The tragedies of love lost and found be it romantic or familial was something anyone can relate to.
I look forward to reading more of Kathryn’s works,
