Story
Keeping things professional with my employees has never been an issue. Until she waltzed onto my property. Billie is talented. She's mouthy. And she's so damn tempting. I can't stop thinking about all the ways I could take her down a peg. I can't stop thinking about her, period. We clash from the moment we meet. And in a small town, on an even smaller farm, it's hard to keep your distance. It's even harder to keep that friction from turning to fire. But keeping my distance? That might be the biggest struggle of all.

Story
Lucy Hutton and Joshua Templeman sit across from each other every day...and they hate each other. Not dislike. Not begrudgingly tolerate. Hate. Lucy can't understand Joshua's joyless, uptight approach to his job and refusal to smile. Joshua is clearly baffled by Lucy's overly bright clothes, quirkiness, and desire to be liked. Now they're up for the same promotion, and Lucy, usually a determined people pleaser, has had enough: it's time to take him down. But as the tension between Lucy and Joshua reaches its boiling point, it's clear that the real battle has only just begun....

I really love the simplicity and pace of this book, it’s a story of characters constantly and completely giving in to there intrusive thoughts.

Beckett: If you’re reading this, well, you know the last-letter drill. You made it. I didn’t. Get off the guilt train, because I know if there was any chance you could have saved me, you would have. I need one thing from you: get out of the army and get to Telluride. My little sister Ella’s raising the twins alone. She’s too independent and won’t accept help easily, but she has lost our grandmother, our parents, and now me. It’s too much for anyone to endure. And here’s the kicker: there’s something else you don’t know that’s tearing her family apart.

Loved this book

Wow… really fun dark read. Not one for accidentally playing in public. Good story and great love story. Sometimes the book flowed into a standard romance and the slide back into a darker tale felt jarring but in the whole amazing.
The narration was perfect.

Story
In Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, Mary is the middle of the five Bennet girls and the plainest of them all, so what hope does she have? The Other Bennet Sister shows another side to Mary. Mary, it seems, is destined to remain single and live out her life at Longbourn, at least until her father dies and the house is bequeathed to the reviled Mr Collins. But when that fateful day finally comes, she slowly discovers that perhaps there is hope for her after all.

Indulgent in the best way
Reviewed: 06-06-24
This part retelling, part sequel to Pride and prejudice is lovingly indulgent. We get to revisit all the old characters and see their comeuppance and their joy.
It is very well written in the style of Jane Austin and fans will love it.

Brilliant story with great dialogue.
I’m a big fantasy reader and love these types of books, but my biggest problem is the pacing of the stories. This book has great story and worldbuilding, and it doesn’t rush the reader. You end the book knowing that there’s so much story left in the next one I can’t wait for it to be released.

Story
Six months ago, Clementine West had the worst day of her life. So, she came up with a plan to keep her heart safe: stay busy, work hard, take no risks. And it’s been working. That is until one day she finds a strange man standing in her kitchen. A man with kind eyes, a crooked smile, and a recipe for the perfect lemon meringue pie. The kind of man that, before everything, she could have fallen for... He’s perfect but for one thing: he lives in the past. Seven years ago, to be exact.

I kind of didn’t want to read this book because the premise feel like gimmick, however as the story rolled through, the time travelling apartment was much more of a tool to understand grief and how we change over time. I almost wanted more apartment magic than we got. A really lovely story and well worth reading

Great characters, instant world building and brilliant interplay between characters.
I did not want it to end. It’s so long until the next book, Jan 2025. It’s a duology so only one more.
I think the book and pov would have benefited from duel narration.

The man is hard to trust - and even harder to resist. Make that impossible. Because Theo is persistent. And no matter how hard I try to freeze him out, he melts my icy exterior and pulls apart all my defences. Then I spend the singular hottest night of my life with him.
