Story
My new job as a chef in a small town was supposed to be my ticket to peace and quiet. I didn’t expect to run into the former hockey star who gave me the hottest nights of my life. And, oops, he’s sort of my new boss. So much for keeping my past where it belongs. Ty still thinks I’m the fun party girl. He has no idea how much things have changed. One thing that hasn’t changed: the spark between us. It’s hotter than the blowtorch I use on my crème brûlée.

I don't think this author knows how women's hormones work but otherwise a fun listen with good narration and the story kept moving

Story
Everyone expected Violet Sorrengail to die during her first year at Basgiath War College―Violet included. But Threshing was only the first impossible test meant to weed out the weak-willed, the unworthy, and the unlucky. Now the real training begins, and Violet’s already wondering how she’ll get through. It’s not just that it’s grueling and maliciously brutal, or even that it’s designed to stretch the riders’ capacity for pain beyond endurance. It’s the new vice commandant, who’s made it his personal mission to teach Violet exactly how powerless she is–unless she betrays the man she loves.

Solid but overly long sequel
Reviewed: 12-11-23
Entertaining but repetitive and needed a stronger edit to get the pacing better and avoid having so many characters who aren't developed enough to be memorable in a book this long

Story
It's 1999, and Eira Hart and Ru Tattersall are set up to co-host The Lonely Harts Club, a new late-night radio show to help New Yorkers find love. It's a last chance attempt for both Eira, expert in Celtic mythology and amateur Welsh matchmaker, and Ru, once-hot-shot Aussie DJ, to achieve their New York dreams. The thing is, you either click with a co-host, or you don’t. It’s a bit like falling in love. There’s co-host chemistry, or there isn’t. With the countdown to a new millennium, it feels like the world as they know it is about to end.

Sweet story with engaging characters and great narration. Loved the 90s setting and made me nostalgic for my student radio days at uni

Naomi wasn’t just running away from her wedding. She was riding to the rescue of her twin. Too bad for Naomi, her evil twin hasn’t changed at all. After helping herself to Naomi’s car and cash, Tina leaves her with a niece she didn’t know she had. Now, she’s stuck in town with no car, no job, no home - and an 11-year-old to take care of. Since Naomi’s life imploded right in front of him, the least Knox can do is help her out. And just as soon as she's out of trouble, he can get back to his peaceful, solitary life. That’s the plan, until the trouble turns to real danger.

Overly long and clichéd

The immature characters, predictable plot which heavily relies on trobes and a struggle to finish. at least two subplots too many

Story
We've been teammates for two years, but it feels like a lifetime that Oliver Bergman's been on my last nerve. A demanding captain and veteran player, I'm feared and friendless, while he's the beloved rising star, all smiles and upbeat team spirit. To make matters worse, he's obscenely attractive. In short: he's genetically designed to get under my skin. Avoiding Oliver has been my survival tactic on and off the field. But when Coach drops the bomb that we're now co-captains, avoiding him becomes impossible, and keeping the truth from him—let alone my distance—is harder than ever.

Queer representation in a fun romance novel
Reviewed: 30-04-23
Great story but dual POV would have been boosted with two narrators like the other Bergman Brothers novels - a little confusing to tell who's POV you were hearing as a result. A queer love story at the centre rather than side characters made an unexpected but welcomed change in this series

Story
Nora has been through enough break-ups to know she's the woman men date before they find their happy-ever-after. That's why Nora's sister has persuaded her to swap her desk in the city for a month's holiday in Sunshine Falls, North Carolina. It's a small town straight out of a romance novel, but instead of meeting sexy lumberjacks, handsome doctors or cute bartenders, Nora keeps bumping into...Charlie.

all the classic tropes with enough of a spin to keep things fresh and interesting. Nora Ephron would be proud!
