How do you learn to live again when you've danced with death?
Louise was like any other excited mother-to-be during her first pregnancy, but no one could have predicted what happened when she gave birth. During an emergency c-section, she had severe complications and fought for her life over a number of days, whilst her son was taken into NICU. This terrifying experience impacted on Louise's mental health in a way that completely changed her life, as she has battled to come to terms with what happened to her, whilst also becoming a mother.
As Louise has rebuilt herself step by step, she has reflected back on her life – from her childhood and close relationship with her brother, Sam Thompson, to her struggles with alcohol and toxic relationships, as well as the rollercoaster years of her time on Made in Chelsea.
Louise’s experience has changed the way she sees the world and redefined what's important to her. Although it has not been an easy road, she is determined to come out more alive than ever. Louise’s powerful story, told with raw honesty, shows the incredible human ability to overcome anything, no matter what life throws at you.

Heartbreaking, inspiring, amazing
Listened to the whole thing in less than 24 hours as I couldn't stop listening. Louise is so brave to share her story. What happened to her breaks my heart but she's stronger for it. It's incredibly well written

Louise really reads this so beautifully. I couldn’t stop reading this. Someone who has been through trauma, I could completely relate. She is very brave.

Thanks for sharing your story
I have also been through pregnancy/birth trauma which was very similar in a lot of ways. It helped me feel validated in the way I have felt as I also have been diagnosed with ptsd. The nhs needs to look more into supporting the woman and families as it can rock peoples world. 2.5years on and I’m still receiving Emdr and been left with a life long disability. It is a disability as it is so disabling.
Louise your little boy has someone so strong to look up to as he will follow in both yours and Ryan’s strength. Great job in supporting Louise Ryan as I know my partner also struggled.
You are doing a great job from the outside looking in xxx

Honesty and vulnerability
Well done Louise. This book has helped me understand trauma, both my own and supporting others. I found myself crying while listening to parts. Best of luck with your healing journey.

So honest and listened to over one day
Louise you are one honest beautiful lady! Thank you for telling your story. If you read this please ask your drs about Ehler Danlos Syndrome I have EDS and listening to your physical and mental anguish it was like hearing my own voice. EDS affects connective tissue and child birth and investigations and operations are more risky due to defective connective tissue it’s a very complex condition but you also have mental health issues some people have ADHD or OCD and tics. Histamine issues and pots is also common. Adhesions and delicate blood vessels. Please rule this condition out. Much love xx
