Thank you Nathan

This is my first book review ever and I am writing it in respect of the author. I am a brother of a so called schizofranic person. Therfore I unfortunately can relate a bit more to the subject than most people. Nathan has written and told this important story with so much good effort and with so much respect for the people who are suffering of mental health issues that I am truly greatfull for his work.

Some things I already knew, some were new. But what I couldn't put into words is what I felt I knew about mental health problems, the large diversity in manifestations and the industry behind it. This is exactly what Nathan was able to do. His research is thorough, his motivation is true and his narration is beautiful. I will try to talk about his work as he suggested and this is my first step.

Really interesting insight into how mental health issues are perceived and treated

I found this book to provide really interesting insight into how mental health issues are perceived, both from the experiencer and the helper, and into how they are (and have been) treated.
I now have a much better and, presumably, more accurate understanding of mental “health” issues.

Good

I enjoyed this audiobook, I found it hard at times to stay interested, but I do have adhd so that could be why.

I'm a nurse with an interest in mental health and found this insightful in parts.
The stories included were interesting and definitely helped give different perspectives.

An excellent audio book, balanced and empathetic.

This is an excellent listen (had it on audio book) Nathan describes the intricacies of modern psychology, it's ethics and current debates withing the field in relation to real patient stories. very thought provoking with a huge dose of empathy for those with diagnosis of psychosis related mental health. I found it inspiring and insightful. loved it!

Brilliant, intelligent and thought provoking

I really enjoyed this book. I think it should be essential reading for everyone. The author broaches the subject of mental health in an approachable, informative, sensitive way, whilst also maintaining a level of humour that does not detract from some of the (heartbreaking) stories. Very well done
