Man arrested after crash on Glastonbury route

A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a fatal crash involving a van and a lorry.

The collision, involving a Citroen van and a Volvo lorry, happened at around 05:20 BST on Wednesday on the A371 near Wincanton in Somerset.

Avon and Somerset Police said the arrested man was the driver of the van.

A 27-year-old man, a Dutch national who was a passenger in the van, died following the collision.

Two other male passengers in the van, both in their 30s, were also taken to hospital.

One has since been discharged while the other is being treated for serious injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

Avon and Somerset police said the lorry driver was "shocked" but unhurt.

The force wants to hear from anyone who witnessed the crash or who may have dashcam or doorbell footage.
