Miami is home to some amazing restaurants, but what you might not know is that food trucks are also serving up some real culinary delights.

What’s even better about these handy providers of food on the go is that there are a lot of them. Which means that whether you’re hitting the beach, cruising down Ocean Drive or checking out the scene in Coconut Grove, it’s highly likely you’ll encounter a Miami food truck during your vacation.

But, some are of course better than others and many specialize in specific cuisines. So, to save you the research, here are eight of the best Miami food trucks to look out for when you’re out and about.

1. Ms. Cheezious

1. Ms. Cheezious

Ms. Cheezious is renowned for serving some of the best grilled cheese sandwiches in Miami. These aren’t your standard grilled cheeses though – far from it. Its menu has an array of signature sandwiches which all feature – as you’d expect – delectable melted cheese. If you think you know grilled cheese, just try the Crabby Cheese Melt.

The truck itself can be tracked via the Ms. Cheezious Twitter page, but with its turquoise exterior and raunchy logo, it’s hard to miss.

2. Moty’s Grill

2. Moty’s Grill

Take your tastebuds on a trip from the Florida coast to the east Mediterranean by sampling some of the fresh and delicious food served from Moty’s Grill truck. Here you can find delicious salads with sides of baba ganoush, pitas bursting with falafel, shawarma, lamb koftas and many more barbecue-grilled delights.

Moty’s Grill also has a bright blue truck so it should be easy to spot. A little tip if you can’t decide what food to order is to get the 3 Crazy Cousins as this platter features all of this food truck’s best signature dishes.

3. Twice Butter

3. Twice Butter

The name of this Miami food truck might not give much away about its menu, but don’t let that put you off, as it serves some of the best tacos in the city. Its offering of Mexican fusion food also includes some incredible burgers and ribs. Although many consider the chipotle-infused - and aptly named - Twice Butter Burger to be the best. It’s a particular favourite among customers, so make sure you get your order in early.

Unlike other trucks, Twice Butter is also available for catering, but their classy black and silver vehicle can often be found in Wynwood.

4. HipPOPs

4. HipPOPs

Ever had gelato on a stick? Sounds delicious, right? Well, this is what HipPOPs is famed for offering sun-drenched folks around the city.

There are other sweet treats to be found too, from sorbet pops to frozen bananas and a regularly changing menu of ‘boozyPOPs’. The latter essentially being cocktails on a stick – strictly for those over 21 of course! There’s also a whole rainbow of toppings and extras to add to your pops, which are as colourful as the luminous two-tone truck itself.

HipPOPs is a hugely popular truck and has multiple stops around Miami, but you can track where it will be camped out by searching for its handy calendar.

5. Che Grill

5. Che Grill

Che Grill is a family-run business offering amazing Latin-American fusion cuisine. What sets this truck apart from others is that everything on the menu is made from secret family recipes. In the owner’s words, they ‘wanted to offer what we would serve at home’. This means you can expect traditional spices and tastes mixed with modern flavours, putting truly unique twists on classic meals.

On top of this, all their food is freshly made in the truck - even the delicious breads used in the sandwiches and burgers. To find where Che Grill is stopping next, you need to check out its social media.

6. King of Racks

Sometimes the best accompaniment to the Miami weather is some delicious barbecue food. Especially the quality cuisine served by King of Racks.

If you’re looking for some ribs, a chicken basket or a meaty sandwich, all of this is on the menu, plus many other barbecue classics. The meat is smoked to perfection and cooked with a choice of sauces and marinades.

King of Racks is another truck that’s here, there and everywhere in Miami, so follow it on Facebook to see where it’s parking up next.

7. Cuban Guys

7. Cuban Guys

Although Cuban Guys is now a restaurant chain, this Miami food truck remains one of the most popular in town.

Like the name tells us, the menu is filled with Cuban delicacies as well as classic sandwiches that have been given a Latin twist. But it’s not just the heavy dishes that people keep coming back for - the salads are crisp and delicious, plus it’s one of the few places you can get a breakfast platter at any time of the day.

If this cuisine is what you’re craving, the truck itself is emblazoned with the now-famous Cuban Guys branding, which alongside the eye-catching blue, red and white paint job, means it’s not hard to spot when out in the streets.

8. Naughty Coffee

For that all-important coffee fix, avoid the chain stores and look out for the sleek, polished chrome of the Naughty Coffee VW minibus. While the name might raise an eyebrow, there’s nothing naughty about the selection of drinks, pastries and snacks you can get here. Whether you want a foamy latte, an espresso, an ice-cold mocha or anything in between, the expert baristas will have you covered.

Vegan options and alternative milks are also included in the menu, but be wary that the smaller size of this Miami food truck means that customer favourites can run out quickly.

Follow Naughty Coffee on Instagram to see where the truck will be going next, although it is known to park up in Brickell on a regular basis.
