Overall, there's always something to do and public transportation is one of the best in Europe. You can catch a train at any time of the day. Unlike some countries like Brussels (which ironically is the heart of the EU), where all public transportation halts at midnight... Definitely felt the difference from Munich to Berlin, Bavaria to an old communist city, but we loved it. It’s gritty, in a charming way, and felt a little further from the US culturally which is what we wanted. The Radio tower wasn’t as impressive as we wanted, the Technik and Computer Games museums were amazing for the whole family, as was the East Side Gallery. We walked and rode the train all around and it felt pretty straightforward to do a self guided tour of the city in a coupe days.BBanksUnited States - Scored 8.08.0

German people are more friendly (chatty) if travellers can converse with them in German. We visited Potsdam which is nearby to Berlin by train which has beautiful Dutch architecture building and castle and people are more friendly in Potsdam . Even though we only speak English , travelling around Germany is fairly easy and safe.

If you like big city then you definitely would love to visit Berlin. You can find anything you need. It is a multicultural city and many people speak English too, so we have no worries in communicating with people there. I love how easy we can find transportation to go somewhere and no need to wait for public transportation for a long time. I just hope there were more public toilets in Berlin. I really enjoyed our bike ride/the third Reich tour. We learned a lot. We really wanted to take the 60 minute cruise on the Spree, but weather was bad. We felt safe on the trains and walking around. The Spy Museum would be boring for kids unless they have a strong interest in history or war. We (adults) did like it. We loved the Ice Bar and Natural History Museum. The ice cream spaghetti was hard to find…but worth it.Galus
