Renowned for its stunning architecture and the world’s largest fair, Oktoberfest, Munich needs little introduction. Its vibrant cultural scene, great shopping and fantastic museums speak for themselves.
Munich has something for everyone: from historic palaces and castles, to stunning royal avenues to world class galleries and museums. Don't miss the new city hall in the heart of Marienplatz or the former residence of the Bavarian kings, the Residenz. Munich is also home to the world’s most famous beer hall, the Hofbräuhaus.
For great shopping, Karlsplatz is another commercial wonderland square that takes up much of the city centre and the upscale area around Maximilianstrasse. Munich is famous for its food too, so make sure you try the local Weißwurst, Leberkässemmeln and other popular pork dishes.
Thanks to efficient S-Bahn train, getting to the city centre from Germany’s second busiest airport, Munich International Airport is quick and easy. Whether you’re looking for luxury hotels, youth hostels or comfortable apartments, Booking.com has the perfect accommodation for your Munich visit.

Here you can admire a very beautiful square with the town hall. I also really liked the local Viktualienmarkt market - it's the most beautiful market I've ever seen, everything is fresh, diverse, beautiful and delicious. Here you can buy everything you want, from tomatoes to truffles.
There is a great selection of meat and seafood.
But in addition to the good, there are a lot of disadvantages
We visited Munich for the second time. But this time the city disappointed us. It is very dangerous to walk in the parks, there are gangs of Arabs and black people who leave behind a lot of garbage.
There are a lot of police in the evening, but not in the places where it is needed.
There is constant construction in the place, roads, buildings, etc. its aesthetic appearance is deteriorating. Especially if we take into account the homeless who sleep near the doors of state institutions and attractions.
Starting from the station and ending in the city center, people are sitting and asking for money, they even grabbed our hands. This is terrible.

Really enjoyed the Residenz Museum and English Garden as well as Marienplatz and Odeonsplatz. Munich is a great city for strolling and looking at architecture with lovely cafes and restaurants. Easy to find vegan food which was important to us. Top tip: cafe called A Little Lost. Delicious with very friendly owners. Speak English (they’re Australian!) and German.

Munich is a big beautiful city with much to see. Because of its size you really need at least a week to begin to appreciate it. Airport is close (30 min drive) and we took a taxi booked through Booking.com which proved a great idea.

I preferred the smaller things to see, BMW, Olympic area, Dachau, St Peters climb.
Food was awesome, particularly bakeries and food options available in the morning. Enjoyed the food and tried every different dish I could that was traditional, never had a bad meal, beer or service.
I would, however, never refer a friend to visit the castle replicas. Tour operator in my experience failed to provide adequate financial information as to the rear cost of tour, and how they benefited.
Also, the failure to accurately disclose crowds, waiting times and rushed tour time was never disclosed.
I probably will not travel to Munich again, that's how much this tour disappointed me.
People i meat in Munich were fabulous and friendly.

This is a vibrant city with a lot of cultural history for music and art. It has an interesting history and visitors should take time to learn about the whole ethos of the city. It is a really good base for trips of discovery like the breweries (many), the museums an S or U Bahn away, both networks are well linked up and a Munch Card will pay for itself in a very short time. Trips out of the city are well worthwhile and good for the adventurous and inquisitive. The Auto museums are amazing and there is a great variety of other museums. One of the best is the Deutsches Museum, if you are interested in technology, robotics and science and it's a great place to take children. This is a very relaxed city, friendly and has lots of green space where children can run and play. I have visited several times and enjoyed every trip. There's always more to see with every trip.
I just finished my vacation around a few cities in Germany and this was the best value for money hotel. The buffet breakfast was very nice and well stocked with fresh breads, fruits, cold meats and so on. While not in the heart of of city it was convenient for me because it was a stone away from the train station and 20 mins walk to the city centre alternatively there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel. I walked and enjoyed it. The friendly staff always ready assist very important to me as a solo traveller. Very happy with my choice.
I always stay at the Torbrau when I visit Munich,
I love it there.
The perfect City Centre location is just a few minutes walk from Marienplatz, shops and restaurants,
And the famous Hofbrauhaus and other places of interest.
The rooms are fabulous, and immaculately clean, the beds so comfortable, My room was quiet and peaceful.
The reception staff are all so kind, helpful and professional., as are all the Hotel staff.
I will be booking again next year, and already looking forward to it
Thank you to all of you at the Torbrau Hotel x
Excellent location, close to the main station and to public transport, but also in walking distance from the city centre.
It was the second time that we staid at this hotel and it has improved. The forniture in the room was new, the coloured walls make it nicer.
Breakfast is good, for the price (Munich can be very expensive on this aspect). The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was large and very clean.
An affordable, nice place to stay in one of the most expensive cities in Germany.
The taxi service was excellent.
Very friendly helpful staff at the hotel and we had a large room..
Good modern shower room.
Great breakfast served at table not a buffet at present.
It is a quiet residential area of Munich near Nymphenburg Palace which has large gardens and park (worth a visit... no need to book).
It is easy to get to the city centre and there are good places to eat and drink nearby.
An ideal location for us as we were visiting family in that area of the city.
The hotel is very centrally located and 5 mins walk from the Munich central station makes it very convenient. 10-15 minutes walk to the major tourist destinations in Munich's city centre. Breakfast spread was lavish and staff took care to wait the guests even though it was a buffet style b'fast. Room size was adequate for a short stay and was very clean.
