I was worried about the parking, but it worked out really well. Rydal Road car park was busy but I easily man aged to park and pay for 24 hours. Also parking near the apartment was free from 6pm till 10am. Ambleside itself was quaint with a variety of interesting restaurants, and shops, and a short distance to places of interest! Loved it!!!

Beautiful village although it was very crowded over this weekend as there was a marathon taking place on the Sunday along with pubs all full watching either the Wimbledon final of the England v Spain European football final. Also great restaurants and cafes in throughout Ambleside and neighbouring villages in addition to excellent walking and scenery options all around.

I stay in Ambleside every year probably the last 20 years and I would never stay any where else for a holiday. Ambleside is central for most of the mountains which I hike up I have definitely mentioned it to other people who enjoy hiking.

A delightful spot in one of the most beautiful parts of the country - its the Lake District and its all in the name! Ambleside Pier area is a charming place to stroll around, pick up a snack, feed the ducks, and just absorb the views. The Roman ruins within 5 minutes walk are most interesting, as is the nearby "wilded" area. Ferry trips run regularly from the pier - just remember a jacket, it can be breezy and chilly even on a bright day out on the water.

    Ambleside is a good location.

Ambleside is a good location. We enjoyed Rydal Mount, a boat cruise and a visit to the waterfall. The public transport network is great, not taking the car was not a problem. We travelled on the bus between Windermere, Bowness and Ambleside with ease. I will definitely visit again, but next time I will research more of the local walks. There is loads to see, but I would like to know where I was heading and where to walk!

Very nice modern property in the heart of Ambleside. Dedicated parking right outside the door. We came in the winter but I imagine the parking space is worth its weight in gold in the summer. Comfortable and warm. Dog friendly with a great park for walking them 2 minutes away. Owners communicated quickly when we needed them. Full cooking facilities should you desire. Looks better than the photos.

Location is excellent at the top of Lake Windermere. We had a view of the lake from our room so very pleased with that. Room was adequately spacious and comfortable. Staff always very friendly and available. Over all the hotel suited and provided all we required. Dog friendly hotel. We don't have a dog but appreciated the restaurant separating those with dogs from those who don't.

Service was impeccable throughout the hotel. Breakfast was really very good. Spa, with pool, steam and sauna and hydro pool beyond expectations. Loved the location and the fact that there is parking on site. Lounge areas are tastefully furnished and decorated with ample space to read, have a drink and just relax.
