Very nice hotel; the room was luxurious (2 double beds as a twin) the towel rail worked, hot chocolate in with the hot drinks and the shower was powerful. Felt indulgent

Very good. Last day service at breakfast was poor and breakfast not up to the 2 previous days. Lack of staff for busy period. Would not stop me going back though.

We loved Grasmere for its beautiful setting, meaning wonderful walks were possible , the wonderful variety of places to eat and shop and the compact nature of the town. We stayed at the Victorian ( wonderful and so central) and ate at the Swan and the art gallery cafe. Visiting Dove House e and Wordsworth’s grave was special.

Grasmere is a smart and touristy village in the heart of the Lake District. Plenty of hotels, cafes and tourist shops, and easy to walk around. There's a frequent bus service to Keswick, Ambleside and Windermere, and lots of opportunities for walking, so you don't have to drive. You can take a boat out on the lake, and it's only a short walk to Dove Cottage and museum, William Wordsworth's first home, which is well worth a visit. The village is busy in the daytime but quieter in the evenings.

It was the perfect base for getting to other lakes and places of interest. The lake and the village in itself was wonderful and you have not lived till you have queued for the gingerbread, or had gellato.

I have visited and stayed in the Lake District hundreds of times over the years and still the scenery is the redreaming feature and by far the bonus.
Sadly on this occasion, I thought the villages, especially the smaller (Coniston, Hawkeshead etc) were looking tired and unwelcoming.
I will be back, but will not be staying in the centres from now on.
On the upside however, there is some fantastic restaurants and eateries around the area.

Grasmere is a beautiful little village, stunning views, beautiful scenery very enjoyable walks, plenty of places for a nice meal or cuppa and a scone, sometimes busy little place but not to busy that you will not enjoy it.parking is tough but don’t let it put you off going.very dog friendly pubs and tea rooms, just the place for a wonder around and a ice cream and relax.
Bridge House is one of our favourite hotels, good location with allocated parking (a blessing in Grasmere), stylish and very comfortable rooms. Breakfast is very good and although they don’t serve diner, they have the sister hotel (The Inn) and other delivered options. It’s the sort of hotel that makes you feel special - and a real rarity, a mirror over the desk low enough for a woman to see in (I’m average height and often have to sit on cushions!) and power points handy for hairdryers.
The hotel was really lovely and the gardens and the surrounding areas were just beautiful. Everything was decorated to high standard and the room was very comfortable and modern. The staff were lovely and friendly. The location is excellent at it is literally in the middle of Grasmere village.
We really enjoyed our stay here, amazing breakfast and beautiful views. Very short walk from the centre of Grasmere and the bus stop is directly outside the hotel.
The location is really good. Just outside of Grasmere, but easily accessible on foot (around a 10 minute walk) and there is a bus stop right outside the hotel.
