Really friendly staff throughout the hotel. The staff in the dining room were particularly pleasant and attentive. The view from the balcony of our room of the estuary and sea were to die for and from the point of view of interest changed throughout the day.
Situated right on the beach, South Sands Hotel is a stunning boutique hotel with a beachside restaurant and modern rooms. There is free Wi-Fi and free private parking.

Being right on the beach is the most wonderful thing about this hotel. So easy to swim in the sea and the ferry service into Salcombe town leaves from right next door to the hotel where there is also a kayak rental service. It was also lovely to eat out on the terrace overlooking the sea. The food was consistently wonderful and the hotel room was really comfortable.

Have been many times before and still not used to the very narrow lanes on the drive there.
Parking is very limited at the Hope & Anchor and the public parking which although right next door is quite expensive and if you use the machine on site instead of downloading the app, it will rip you off and charge a lot more than the tariff advertised.
Lovely setting and lovely old cottages, great coastal paths to walk with tremendous views.
Several places to eat though only the hotel to drink.

Highly recommended.
Highly recommended. The accommodation was comfortable the food was great and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
A very small criticism would be that my wife waited 20 minutes for a single slice of toast at breakfast. I did mention it to a member of staff.
Hope this solves the problem for future guests.

Great place to enjoy a relatively quiet seaside holiday.
Great place to enjoy a relatively quiet seaside holiday. Good local food. Afternoon tea at the Cottage Hotel overlooking the sea is not to be missed. Hope Cove is small enough to allow you to walk everywhere. The road to Hope Cove from the main road is very narrow but there are passing places.

A great coastal location in the South Hams with some glorious scenery and coastal walking around, either from the front door or a short drive away.
Although very much a holiday destination with, in truth, rather too many holiday lets/rentals, the village does benefit from three eateries, two of them as part of pubs, one being fairly smart and traditional (Hope&Anchor), and the other more of a hip/'craft' bar that serves excellent pizzas (The Cove). There is no convenience store in the village.
P.S. The narrow lanes are NOT for the faint-heated or those who do not know the width of their car !!!

A lovely unspoilt location, with lovely walks , unfortunately due to COVID there were little places to eat but the pub we found The Cove was brilliant with very friendly staff and felt very safe as Covid priorities in place . Hope cove is an excellent base , with easy access to Dartmouth, salcombe And kingsbridge . Overall we had a wonderful couple of days.
one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in , in this country, I stay at hotels all over uk regularly, beautiful location, lovely rooms, great staff, fantastic food , rooms all have that extra touch, plug sockets everywhere ha ha, massif tv , WiFi , I’d ok for the area, continental breakfast was best I have ever had at a hotel in this country. can’t big this place up enough. and I slept like a baby.
The hotel was perfect. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly, and helped us celebrate our Silver wedding anniversary with generosity.
The room was really comfortable and amenities great.
The food was delicious, great gastro pub food.
perfect location, staff were friendly, breakfast was lovely and plenty to chose from. the decor in the hotel was lovely and very cosy for a blustery November weekend!
